The farther Scar Wolf walked, the more uneasy he felt. Why was there not a single guard in the corridor? But, anxious to complete his mission, he paid no further attention to these details.

The two assassins captured by Ma Han were still somewhat weak; after all, Chu Feng’s two scalpels had truly pierced their bodies, and those scalpels had been specially crafted for him by Long Feihu.

When Scar Wolf reached Elder Chen’s hospital room, he was unnerved to find no one standing guard at the door. He hesitated, torn between fleeing and going in to finish the mission.

He stood before the door for over ten seconds, finally took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and pushed open the door to Elder Chen’s room.

The moment he entered, he was dumbfounded—more than a dozen guns were aimed straight at him.

“So it seems I was right after all. You really were deceiving us, treating us like children to be played for fools,” Chu Feng’s voice sounded from behind him.

Scar Wolf turned quickly and saw Chu Feng standing there with two other men in camouflage uniforms.

The two assassins who had just been brought in tried to make a desperate move, but as soon as they took two steps forward, two muffled gunshots rang out. Both men froze and collapsed to the floor.

“Come on, it’s time for a proper conversation. I hope we can work together pleasantly,” Chu Feng said. At his words, several soldiers emerged from the room and escorted Scar Wolf back to the warehouse where they had been held.

To be caught and returned just minutes after escaping—Scar Wolf nearly wanted to bash his own head in. He finally realized that Chu Feng had been wary of him all along.

“Are you surprised that I suspected you? It’s all because of your face—such an expressive actor’s face,” Chu Feng said with uncharacteristic good humor, even taking the initiative to explain. “You had another identity in the Island Nation; you were once an award-winning actor, a real master of the craft. Even I almost believed you.”

Long Feihu had previously investigated Scar Wolf’s background in detail. Before joining Sakura Path, Scar Wolf had been an actor and had even won the Best Actor award. It was precisely this fact that made Chu Feng keep his guard up.

Chu Feng’s suspicion wasn’t aroused simply because they hadn’t found the “Mister” Scar Wolf spoke of at Hengjing Villa, but because that “Mister” had left a note for Chu Feng, as if he had anticipated their arrival.

It was this note that truly made Chu Feng suspicious of Scar Wolf. That mission had been top secret; hardly anyone knew about it, and the city government was only informed at dawn, so they could coordinate.

“Now you can tell me—what was the real purpose of your two companions coming here? I don’t believe you were merely sent to assassinate an old man,” Chu Feng said, stepping in front of Scar Wolf. With a flip of his left hand, he produced a specially made scalpel—another of Long Feihu’s creations.

“Let me explain the use of this scalpel. If I pierce your artery with it, your blood will flow from the wound, drop by drop—you’ll see every bit of it with your own eyes,” Chu Feng said calmly, as though discussing something trivial. Scar Wolf, his true nature exposed, fell silent, gazing at Chu Feng with cold indifference.

“Let’s start with your companion, then. I want you to witness this clearly. I hope you won’t regret it, and I’ll record the whole process and send it to your headquarters at Sakura Path.”

With that, Chu Feng drove two scalpels into the hands of Scar Wolf’s companion. As a doctor, he knew exactly where the arteries lay.

Blood began to seep down the handles almost immediately, pooling on the warehouse floor.

“At this rate,” Chu Feng continued, “it will take a few hours for him to die of blood loss. But I won’t use this method on you—I have another way.”

Chu Feng wanted Scar Wolf to feel true fear. Instant death is painless, but watching someone die slowly before your eyes unsettles even the strongest will. When that moment came, Chu Feng was confident he could break Scar Wolf’s resolve and make him speak the truth.

After about five minutes, the assassin’s body began to convulse. His face grew ashen and he could barely stand, swaying as he struggled to remain upright. Two soldiers supported him from behind.

These two soldiers, both experienced in battle, were not especially disturbed by the scene—they merely thought the method somewhat cruel.

Chu Feng approached, held his wristwatch behind the assassin’s back, and the watch instantly absorbed the man’s remaining life. Once it was done, Chu Feng withdrew his hand, and the assassin collapsed to the ground—gone to seek his gods at last.

“Take him out. You two don’t need to come back in—the next scene might leave you with nightmares,” Chu Feng instructed. The two soldiers carried the corpse out, and Chu Feng’s warning made it clear he was about to use harsher measures on Scar Wolf.

“Now, I’ll show you what it means to want life but not be able to live, and to crave death but not be able to die.” Chu Feng pulled a set of silver needles from his pocket and inserted them into several key acupoints on Scar Wolf’s body.

At first, Scar Wolf thought Chu Feng was merely trying to intimidate her, for she felt no change in her body.

But after two minutes, an unbearable itch spread across her entire body, growing ever more intense.

Soon, Scar Wolf was scratching himself madly—his face, his feet, his body—everywhere he could reach, desperate to alleviate the torment.

Chu Feng watched without a flicker of compassion; he felt no remorse for his actions. If he did not do this, he would be failing Elder Chen.

Within minutes, Scar Wolf had torn open the skin all over his body, blood oozing from numerous wounds. His face was streaked with blood; the itch was so unbearable that he scratched with all his might, seeking relief.

After ten minutes, Scar Wolf was drenched in blood, his body a gory mess. He was nearly out of strength, yet still his hands raked incessantly across his flesh.
