Just as Chu Feng joined Dragon Scale, in another part of the capital, inside a villa so dark you couldn't see your own hand, a conversation was unfolding.

"Kui Wolf, I've told you before, I gave you only one day. What do you have left to say? The five men I painstakingly trained are all gone because of you." The gentleman sat on the sofa, his gaze icy as he looked at Kui Wolf beside him. He hadn't expected that after Kui Wolf borrowed five men from him, none returned; all had been killed.

"Sir, I'm starting to suspect the doctor invited by Old Wang has some special abilities. That bullet should have hit their car, but unexpectedly the vehicle suddenly sped up, causing them to miss." As it turned out, the attack on Chu Feng and his companions on their way to the Dragon Scale headquarters was orchestrated by Kui Wolf. The plan was flawless, but Old Wang suddenly floored the accelerator, allowing them to escape disaster.

This puzzled Kui Wolf—why did Old Wang's jeep suddenly accelerate?

"Tonight is your last chance. If you fail to complete the task, don't bother coming back. Go join your two brothers." After saying this, the gentleman slowly stood up, eyes fixed ahead, muttering something under his breath.

Meanwhile, at the Dragon Scale headquarters cafeteria, Chu Feng treated the base staff to a meal. Since he had joined Dragon Scale, and was now part of the Special Operations Unit, it was essential to build good relationships.

At the very least, he couldn't leave a bad impression; otherwise, when he needed help, no one would step forward.

Chu Feng abstained from drinking during the meal, no matter how much Long Feihu and Ma Han urged him. Old Wang, however, drank quite a bit on his behalf.

After the meal, Chu Feng drove the jeep they had arrived in back to the Air Force Hospital where Elder Chen resided. Old Wang’s tolerance was not great; he was tipsy, so Chu Feng let him rest in the back seat.

It took twenty minutes to arrive at the hospital. By then, Old Wang was sobering up.

"Stay here for now, I'll go check on Elder Chen," Chu Feng said, noticing Old Wang still shaky on his feet, leaving him in the car.

Chu Feng entered the hospital and went up to the second floor. The guards recognized him, so he was not stopped and walked straight to Elder Chen’s ward.

Just as he approached, Old Jin came out, shaking his head as if in disappointment.

"Old Jin, what's wrong? Why are you shaking your head? Is Elder Chen asleep?" Chu Feng asked, curious.

"Chu Feng, Elder Chen is still reading documents. I urged him to rest, but he won't listen. His health has just improved; I worry he’ll exhaust himself." After dinner, Elder Chen had Old Jin bring research materials. Old Jin tried repeatedly to persuade him to rest, but Elder Chen insisted on reviewing the files.

"It's fine, I'll check his health and see how he's recovering." Chu Feng entered the ward, Old Jin following behind.

"Elder Chen, you must rest more. Overwork will harm your health," Chu Feng said, seeing Elder Chen in pajamas, wearing reading glasses and poring over documents.

Chu Feng admired this elderly man deeply. Elder Chen had devoted nearly his entire life to the country, sacrificing everything—such people deserved the utmost respect.

"Chu Feng, you’re here. Sit with me." Elder Chen, hearing Chu Feng’s voice, hurriedly beckoned him to sit.

"When you’re old, you never know how much time is left, so I try to review these materials now, lest the younger generation stumble." Elder Chen handed the documents to Old Jin and took off his reading glasses. His body was still recovering, and prolonged reading brought fatigue.

"Elder Chen, how do you feel today? Any discomfort? Let me check you over." Chu Feng, as always, first inquired about Elder Chen’s health.

"I feel quite well today, no discomfort at all. In fact, I ate more than usual. Your medical skills are remarkable." Elder Chen detailed his condition, surprised at how much better he felt after Chu Feng’s treatment.

What Elder Chen didn’t know was that Chu Feng had, in effect, used the lives of evildoers to save this founding hero.

"That’s good. There’s no need to rush; spend more time outdoors in the sun," Chu Feng advised on health maintenance.

Elder Chen’s illness was not only from overwork but also lingering injuries from the wartime era. Chu Feng had heard from Old Wang that Elder Chen still had shrapnel in his body that couldn’t be removed due to his current health.

After chatting for a while, Chu Feng checked his watch—it was already past nine.

"Elder Chen, it’s getting late. You must rest. I’ll be going now," Chu Feng helped Elder Chen to bed and carefully tucked him in.

Outside the ward, Old Jin stood guard, and Old Wang entered from the corridor.

"Chu Feng, how is Elder Chen’s health?" Old Jin hurried to ask.

"He’s doing well. If possible, take him outside tomorrow for some sunshine. I’ll come by in the morning for another checkup." Chu Feng explained Elder Chen’s condition to Old Jin and Old Wang, reminding Old Jin not to let Elder Chen spend too long reading documents.

As Chu Feng, Old Jin, and Old Wang chatted outside the ward, a doctor in a white coat pushed a trolley toward them.

Since the entire floor was under military control, the guards didn’t check the doctor.

"Please step aside, I need to check Elder Chen’s blood pressure." Hearing this, Chu Feng and the others quickly made way.

Neither Old Wang nor Old Jin suspected anything; doctors came every night to check Elder Chen’s blood pressure.

Chu Feng glanced at the doctor, feeling something off, though he couldn’t quite pinpoint it.

As the doctor passed by, Chu Feng sensed an unusual aura emanating from him.
