The capture of the Sunscorched assassins didn't cause much of a loss, but the issue of the slaves was critical. He was well aware of the Chinese government’s previous crackdown on Li Peigen. Now that the government had learned of these slaves, they would undoubtedly devise countermeasures, and might even dispatch forces to wipe out his organization once again.

"Call Jack immediately. Tell him to come to China and handle this mission personally. If he dares to refuse, I will personally raze his base to the ground."

The Master could hardly remember the last time he had been this furious. With failures mounting one after another, his superiors were already extremely dissatisfied with him. Upon hearing the news of the defeat, he lost all desire to sleep. He rose from his bed, walked to the window, lit a cigarette, and took a deep, harsh drag.

Chu Feng slept soundly in Old Chen’s ward. Not only had he captured the Sunscorched assassins who came to sabotage the surgery, but he had also unexpectedly secured two slaves. Although they were of little use and Chu Feng couldn't control them, bringing them in would surely cause Jack significant heartache, given the high cost of purchasing them.

Early the next morning, Chu Feng woke up, freshened up, and went out for breakfast. By nine o’clock, he headed to Liu Shuiqing’s office and did not emerge until ten. No one knew what the two had discussed. After leaving, Chu Feng went to the nurse's station on the first floor of the emergency department to see if Han Xuefang had arrived. Upon reaching the first floor, he spotted Ziyan; since she was there, Han Xuefang must have arrived as well.

"Why are both of you here today? I told you to stay home and rest," Chu Feng said, finding Han Xuefang as she was registering patients.

"It’s fine. Those people are after you, not me. I was bored at home, so I came to help out," Han Xuefang replied, completely unconcerned. In her eyes, the assassins were targeting Chu Feng, not her, so she saw no reason to be afraid. This young girl was too naive to understand the malice of the world; if she had to live Ziyan’s life, it was doubtful she could last more than a few days.

"Since you won't listen to me, there is no need for you to follow me anymore. Just stay here and be a nurse," Chu Feng said, walking away before she could even respond. Han Xuefang was startled; she hadn't expected Chu Feng to be genuinely angry. She rushed to chase after him, only to find he had vanished.

"Sister Ziyan, what did I do wrong to make Chu Feng angry?" Unable to find him, she went to Ziyan in tears.

"You brought this on yourself. He told you last night not to come, but you insisted. You deserve this," Ziyan said, not offering comfort but instead mocking her. To Ziyan, Han Xuefang was far too naive, and her presence beside Chu Feng would likely only bring him trouble. Hearing this, Han Xuefang cried even harder, her expression toward Ziyan shifting. She ran off, sobbing, and Ziyan hurried to follow.

Chu Feng had acted angry in front of Han Xuefang specifically to force her to leave the hospital. Only by staying away would she avoid being targeted by the Sunscorched organization.

At 11:30 AM, Chu Feng donned his long-unused white coat and led a group of doctors into the operating room prepared by Liu Shuiqing for Old Chen. Shortly after they entered, two men entered the Air Force Hospital’s emergency department, bypassing the elevators to climb the stairs.

"Chu Feng, the two targets have entered and are taking the stairs," Xiao Hei, hidden in a corner, whispered through the earpiece.

Chu Feng’s meeting with Liu Shuiqing at nine o’clock that morning had been to arrange for the hospital staff to help him stage a performance. During the interrogation of the Sunscorched assassins the previous night, they had revealed that their leader had also arrived in China. Chu Feng had shared his plan with Long Feihu and borrowed a tactical team from Commander Gao with the sole purpose of trapping Jack here. His current ruse—entering the operating room with the doctors—was intended to lure the assassins in.

"Stay here, all of you. Do not leave until I return. If anyone disobeys and ends up in danger, don't blame me," Chu Feng warned the young doctors before departing, ensuring they wouldn't wander off and become hostages.

Once out of the ward, Chu Feng changed his attire and armed himself with a gun. In this age of high technology, even the deadliest hidden weapon was no match for a bullet.

"Chu Feng, the two have reached the sixth floor, but they've stopped and aren't moving further up. Their movements are identical; I suspect they are slaves," reported Wang Chen from the hospital’s central control room, where he had been monitoring their progress.

"Check the perimeter surveillance. The others confessed that Jack would come personally. I suspect he is using these slaves to distract us while he and his subordinates sneak in," Chu Feng replied.

"I’ve spotted a black commercial van parked by the road across from the hospital. All its windows are covered by curtains. It’s highly likely that Jack and his men are inside," Wang Chen noted after a closer inspection of the perimeter feeds.

"Have the traffic police check it out. If there's someone inside, tell them to move. If it's empty, have it towed," Chu Feng ordered. To ensure the mission's success, he had already coordinated with Li Zeming.

Soon, traffic police arrived at the black van, circling it to find no contact information left for moving the vehicle.
