Chapter Eighty-Six
Wang Hao heard Zhou Yu calling him, saying someone wanted to challenge his marksmanship. So, he stepped out.
As he approached, Wang Hao spoke calmly, "My marksmanship is meant for killing, not for performing tricks."
Liu Haishan couldn't hold himself back any longer after hearing this; anyone would struggle to endure such repeated disdain. Besides, Liu Haishan was a man of iron resolve.
He retorted angrily, "What, are you Shura guys only good at running your mouths? A bunch of useless fools!"
The moment Wang Hao heard the word "useless," his expression darkened, and he replied coldly, "You think we're useless? Very well. You wanted to test me, didn't you? Let's do it. But if you lose, you won't touch a gun for three years."
Zhou Yu, sensing the tension, hurriedly interjected, "Hao, that's enough. If you want to compete, so be it. If he loses, let him become your apprentice. If you don't want him, just let him leave."
Liu Haishan sneered, "You haven't said what happens if you lose."
Wang Hao replied, "If I lose, my head is yours."
Zhou Yu shouted, "Wang Hao, that's enough! Betting your life now? When did you become like this?"
Liu Haishan said, "Fine. If I lose, my life is yours."
Zhou Yu frowned and said, "Then first compete with me. If you win, all the supplies will..."
Before Zhou Yu could finish, Pan Yuxin tugged his sleeve and whispered, "Xiao Yu, don't interfere. Brother Hao can't stand being called 'useless.' No one can stop him now."
Zhou Yu, still frowning, asked, "What's going on?"
Wang Hao cut in, "Don't worry about it. I won't lose, and I won't kill him."
Pan Yuxin whispered, "After you left, we each went on missions. Brother Hao overheard people saying the Shura Squad was nothing but talk, a bunch of self-promoting fools. At first, he ignored it, but as more people said it, he couldn't take it. Now, he's especially sensitive to being called 'useless.'"
Zhou Yu looked at Wang Hao's back and said, "Thanks. But a lesson is enough. We know ourselves whether we're useless or not. Why care what others say?"
Wang Hao glanced at Zhou Yu and replied, "Alright."
Then he turned to Liu Haishan, "Disassemble, assemble, and shoot the carbine. Thirty rounds each. Whoever scores higher wins. Any objections?"
Liu Haishan replied, "No."
Wang Hao looked back at Liu Hu, who handed him his carbine.
Wang Hao took his own carbine off and tossed it to the ground. "Pick one. Don't say we're cheating. Once you've chosen, let's head to the range."
Liu Haishan picked up a carbine and strode toward the shooting range.
Wang Hao picked up the remaining gun and followed him.
Everyone witnessing the scene hurried after them.
At the range, Wang Hao said, "Just call the start."
Liu Haishan glanced at the target ahead. "Two hundred meters, thirty rounds, all shots must hit the same target. Any problem?"
Wang Hao replied, "No problem. You can start."
Liu Haishan called out, "Begin!"
Both started disassembling at the same time.
It had to be said, Liu Haishan, the king of soldiers, was indeed quick—almost on par with Wang Hao.
After disassembling, they swiftly reassembled their weapons.
This time, Liu Haishan finished first, casting a sidelong glance at Wang Hao, who seemed to be deliberately taking his time, assembling his gun slowly and leisurely.
