Chapter Sixty-Three
Nian Yu furrowed her brows and fell silent.
Zhou Yu calmed himself before speaking. "All of you, leave. Pan Yuxin, you stay."
Liu Long rubbed his neck and said, "Xiao Yu, you—"
Zhou Yu turned around, fixing Liu Long with a cold stare. "What about me? I said, all of you, get out."
Liu Long sighed. "Fine, we'll go. Zhou Yu, don't do anything rash."
With that, Liu Long took Yang Ting's hand and left first. Seeing Zhou Yu like this, the others had no choice but to leave as well.
Nian Yu and Xiao Jie, however, hesitated, wanting to stay. Zhou Yu said, "You two go as well. I won't lay a hand on her."
Hearing that Zhou Yu wouldn't get physical, Nian Yu and Xiao Jie also exited.
Once they had left, Zhou Yu turned to Pan Yuxin and said, "Come here."
Pan Yuxin walked over cautiously, head lowered, staring at her feet, her hands nervously twisting her clothes. She dared not look at Zhou Yu.
He had intended to scold her, but seeing her like this, his anger softened. In a gentle voice, he asked, "Xin Xin, tell me, why did you get a tattoo?"
Pan Yuxin kept her head down, voice barely above a whisper. "That scar... it looks ugly. So..."
Zhou Yu frowned. "Nonsense. Just because it looks ugly, you get a tattoo? Do you realize a tattoo is for life?"
Pan Yuxin replied quietly, "I know."
Zhou Yu continued, "If you have a scar, you could go to a beauty clinic and have it removed. Why insist on a tattoo?"
Pan Yuxin shook her head. "No, I don't want it erased."
Zhou Yu asked, "Why are you being so foolish?"
He sighed again. "What did you have tattooed?"
Pan Yuxin said nothing, simply turned around and began to undress.
Just then, Nian Yu burst into the room.
Seeing the scene before her, Nian Yu cried out in surprise.
Pan Yuxin saw Nian Yu enter and hurriedly straightened her clothes.
Earlier, after Nian Yu and Xiao Jie had left, Nian Yu turned to Liu Long and asked, "Um, Brother Long, what's with Zhou Yu acting like this?"
Liu Long replied, "Zhou Yu has never liked girls with tattoos. Before, there was a time when Xin Xin wanted to get one, and when Zhou Yu found out, he stopped her and yelled at her."
"Besides," Liu Long went on, "before Zhou Yu left, he told me to protect Xin Xin, not to let her get hurt, not even a scratch."
"In the end, we couldn't stop her from getting the tattoo. I figured Zhou Yu might not come back, so I let it go. But now Zhou Yu has returned, and found out so quickly—this is why he's acting this way."
Nian Yu said, "But Zhou Yu has tattoos too. Even if he dislikes them, is that any reason to act like this?"
Liu Long shrugged. "That, I don't know. You'll have to ask Zhou Yu yourself."
After hearing this, Nian Yu went back inside, wanting to question Zhou Yu about his behavior, which led to the scene unfolding now.
Hearing Nian Yu's cry, everyone outside rushed in at once.
Seeing them enter, Zhou Yu said, "Why did you all come in? Get out."
Hands on her hips, Nian Yu retorted angrily, "Zhou Yu, so what if you don't like girls with tattoos? That's your preference. Why interfere with someone else's choices?"
Zhou Yu shot back, "What do you know? Once she has a tattoo, how will she ever get married? Should she find a little thug like me?"
At that moment, Pan Yuxin spoke up. "But I don't want to marry anyone else. I only want to marry you, Brother Yu."
