Chapter 126: The Blade of Judgment Does Not Strike at Justice
Chapter 126: Blade of Judgment Does Not Strike Justice
Lian Feng watched as several figures darted out of her field of vision and sprinted toward the command hall; it was the members of the Xiongbing Lian. Before anyone could ask what was happening, Lian Feng spotted Sun Wukong approaching and, with a glimmer of hope in her eyes, she spoke directly.
"Wukong, can your clones fly into space?"
"No, the clones would freeze solid, but I can. Why?" Sun Wukong explained, looking puzzled.
Realizing she could not count on Sun Wukong, as Ge Xiaolun had already departed with the angels to intercept the threat and might sacrifice himself, Lian Feng knew Earth could not afford to lose any more combat power. She did not dwell on the matter with Sun Wukong but instead contacted the Mangdang Mountain.
"Captain Lin Lei, can your automatic defense system lock onto six sub-light speed nuclear missiles simultaneously?"
On the Mangdang Mountain, cruising through space, Captain Lin Lei replied with a hint of helplessness after hearing Lian Feng’s request. "Sub-light speed? We don’t have weapons capable of that speed; we can't intercept them."
Hearing this, the tension drained from Lian Feng’s body, and she slumped into her chair. "I will give you the coordinates. Try using the N2 bombs."
"Understood."
As Lin Lei accepted the order, six N2 bombs crawled toward the interception coordinates at a speed incomparably slower than sub-light. Even if they could intercept them at those coordinates, Earth would still suffer tremendous impact; at the very least, tsunamis and terrestrial shockwaves were inevitable. These N2 bombs were merely a last-resort insurance policy, and their success was not guaranteed.
Near the wormhole, Ge Xiaolun shouted to the angels flying ahead. "In a moment, I will try using the Xiong Core first. If that doesn't work, you must let me take the hit for one of them—do you hear me!"
The angels in front did not look back, but Mo Yi’s voice reached Ge Xiaolun’s ears. "Power of the Galaxy, Ge Xiaolun, you are quite impressive. Sister Yan did not misjudge you. Rest assured, we will definitely leave one for you."
Hearing this, Ge Xiaolun couldn't help but smile. *Am I impressive? What a pity; I wonder if I can make it back alive this time.*
On the Demon One, in the plaza, A'Tai heard an alarm. He pulled out his tablet and saw that the Taotie had launched star-killing weapons at Earth. He quickly tapped his Queen on the shoulder; after all, Earth was the future home of the demons, and they couldn't just sit by while the Taotie destroyed it. This was a matter for the Queen to decide.
After being tapped, Morgana turned around, looking somewhat melancholy. "What is it? Can't you see I’m feeling sad?"
"Queen, the Taotie have launched a strike on Earth—a 'Ferocious Tide,' a star-killing anti-matter bomb." Ignoring Morgana's melancholy, A'Tai reported the information he had monitored.
Morgana signaled for A'Tai to enlarge the image and shouted to Qiang Wei, "Qiang Wei, someone is trying to blow up Earth."
People in the nearby circle turned to look at the newly projected image. It was a real-time view of the solar system, showing six red dots rapidly approaching Earth.
"These are six star-killing weapons. If they hit Earth, they will sink two continents, and the chain reaction will leave no life on the planet," A'Tai explained, pointing at the red dots, fearing these "country bumpkins" wouldn't understand.
The entire Qiang Wei squad was in an uproar after hearing A'Tai's explanation, and Yun Yang stood up, startled. Qiang Wei, however, remained calm and asked Liang Bing, "Do you have a way to solve this?"
"I do, and I want to, because this is the new home I’ve chosen for the demons. But if we intercept them, we will be locked onto by the Blade of Judgment from the Tianren Seven, and the Judgment strike will likely follow immediately. So..." Morgana hesitated, analyzing the situation for Qiang Wei.
"Help Earth, help humanity, just for my sake, can you?" Seeing Morgana’s hesitation, Qiang Wei pleaded, her tone filled with emotion.
Morgana looked at the surrounding demons with a troubled expression. The demons around her spoke up one after another.
"We follow the Queen’s lead."
"Queen, we listen to you."
Hearing these words, Morgana smiled with relief. "Fine, let’s help Earth. After all, it is our new home. A'Tai, prepare for space jumping; we’ll strike and run."
"Yes, Queen," A'Tai responded immediately.
Just as A'Tai was about to initiate the space jump, Yun Yang stood up and spoke loudly to Morgana. "There is no need. The Blade of Judgment will not descend on the Demon One."
As he spoke, Yun Yang had Xiao Yi release Angel Zhui and Angel Leng from the virtual space. The moment they appeared, Yun Yang grabbed their sword-wielding wrists and transmitted the situation to the two angels via dark information. The moment these two guardian angels appeared, the demons in the plaza grew tense, drawing their weapons or shielding Morgana.
After digesting the dark information from Yun Yang, the two exchanged glances and sheathed their Flame Swords. Angel Zhui then addressed Morgana solemnly. "The Blade of Judgment will not fall upon the righteous. Your actions this time align with the Order of Justice, so the Blade of Judgment will not come. However, this is not a compromise; next time we meet, we will still be enemies."
Hearing Zhui’s words, Morgana signaled for the demons in front of her to stand aside and said, "I never expected that in the eyes of angels, we demons could sometimes be righteous. Very well, proceed!"
Just as Ge Xiaolun and the angels passed through the wormhole into deep space, they saw six striking points of light. Before they could get closer, all six points exploded simultaneously, the blinding glare almost searing their eyes. Before they could comprehend what happened, a massive shockwave followed, and they could even hear faint, muffled explosions in the vacuum of space, illustrating the sheer power of those sub-light anti-matter bombs.
As they realized what had happened, Ge Xiaolun exclaimed in pleasant surprise, "Intercepted? Is Earth safe?"
"Yes, they were intercepted. Earth is safe," Mo Yi confirmed.
Mo Yi’s affirmation made Ge Xiaolun let out a long sigh of relief. Overjoyed, he opened his arms and hugged Mo Yi tightly. Then, realizing what he had done, he pulled away as if electrocuted and stammered, "S-sorry, I was just too excited, too excited."
Mo Yi shook her head, signaling it was fine.
On the Tianren Seven, in the council hall, an angel monitoring data suddenly stood up. "Demon One location found! Demon One location found! Demon One just released a Heavenly Punishment bombardment. Should we..."
She trailed off, stuck, because there was no one left with the authority to execute the Blade of Judgment. At that moment, Lian Feng saw on the virtual projection that the red dots had vanished, replaced by a "Danger Cleared" status.
She immediately understood and stood up, speaking solemnly. "Allow me to first salute our friends far away on the Demon One."
Following her words, the members of the Xiongbing Lian and the warriors of Earth in the hall raised their hands in a salute, the atmosphere turning profoundly solemn.
After the salute, Lian Feng turned back to the standing angel. "I do not recommend using the Blade of Judgment on the Demon One, because there are members of our Xiongbing Lian there, and more importantly, your own angel sisters—including a Winged Guardian and a Guardian-level angel."
The angel opened her mouth to argue based on the Order of Justice, but the words caught in her throat; she couldn't bring herself to say them. Just then, a communication request reached the Tianren Seven. An angel nearby spoke up, "A communication request from Demon One. Shall I connect it?"
Seeing no one respond, Lian Feng took the initiative. "Connect it."
As she spoke, a figure appeared on the table’s virtual projection, becoming three-dimensional—it was Morgana. The angels glared at the projection with hatred.
Morgana looked around her environment, spotted the young angels glaring at her, and said dismissively, "Look at me however you want. This time, I’m not the one talking to you. A'Tai, switch it."
The image changed to Angel Zhui. The three-dimensional projection of Zhui said, "Sisters, the demons' actions this time align with the Order of Justice; they have saved Earth, so we will let them go for now."
The image shifted again to Angel Leng. "Sisters, keep your spirits up. Next time, we will cut these demons down one by one."
The projection snapped off, and the angels wore complex expressions. Lian Feng then contacted Ge Xiaolun, telling him to bring the angels back.
Receiving the transmission, Ge Xiaolun looked at Mo Yi with a complicated expression. "I never imagined that in the end, our Earth would be saved by demons. I wonder what price Qiang Wei and Yang Zi had to pay to get the demons to act."
"Don't overthink it. Demons are demons; their essence won't change because of one act," Mo Yi patted Ge Xiaolun’s shoulder, speaking earnestly.
Ge Xiaolun nodded, then shook his head, choosing not to continue the topic. "Since it’s resolved, let’s return to Earth and wait for Yang Zi and the others to bring your sisters back in triumph."
Back on the Demon One, after the matter of the Blade of Judgment had been settled, Angel Leng started making trouble, flying into the air and shouting at the demons. "You ugly demons! Do you want to pounce on beautiful angels? Come, let me trample over your corpses and shout that Justice will prevail! Hahaha..."
Seeing Angel Leng’s performance, Yun Yang covered his face. Angel Zhui knew this would cause trouble and moved to pull Angel Leng away. Surprisingly, the demons did nothing; some even whispered among themselves while looking at Angel Leng.
"This angel is quite pretty, but there's something wrong with her brain."
"Yeah, I think so too."
"Is she stupid or are we? Kaisha is already gone; we’d have to be sick to go and kill her."
"I do kinda want to pounce on her, though."
