Chapter 128: The Body Pillow
Chapter 128: The Body Pillow
“That’s enough, right? No matter how much you hit me now, I won’t get hurt. See?” Yun Yang said as he rubbed his face, signaling A-Tai to take a look, then conceded defeat.
But A-Tai greeted Yun Yang with an old-fashioned punch. Yun Yang couldn’t stand it and the two resumed their brawl.
At first, Yun Yang was on the receiving end, but after such a prolonged fight, he was able to hold his own against A-Tai.
Gradually, on the square, only the two fighters remained, along with Rose, a few angels, and Morgana.
Until Morgana grew bored and released the last angel, then walked away without hesitation.
Yun Yang thought A-Tai was crazy—who’s been in a ring for hours? Seizing a chance, Yun Yang kicked A-Tai aside and said, “Stop, stop. Your queen has already released the captives, so that means you lost.”
“Wait, I have something to say,” A-Tai called out to Yun Yang, who was turning to leave.
“Hm? What is it?” Yun Yang asked.
“It’s not to you, it’s to the angels,” A-Tai pointed behind Yun Yang toward the angels.
He then hurried over to the angels and loudly declared, “Angels, I want a guardian angel. Is there anyone willing?”
Hearing this, Yun Yang slapped his hand over his face, unable to bear watching further.
Sure enough, the angels all looked exasperated. Angel Leng even pointed his flaming sword at A-Tai and said, “We are angels, and you are demons. We are natural enemies.”
“Although I don’t quite agree with your viewpoint, right now we really are enemies. Sigh,” A-Tai said, his whole body filled with loneliness as he trudged away from the square. Just as he was about to leave, he turned back and opened a portal.
“This portal leads directly to the Moon, to the spot I showed you before,” he said.
Yun Yang said nothing, simply pulled Rose close to his waist and stepped into the portal first.
Back at the command hall, A-Tai heard the queen’s voice.
“Where’s Rose?”
“She left with that Yun Yang,” A-Tai replied, momentarily stunned.
“Ah, well, we’ll find her again in a few days. Children will be children,” Morgana sighed thoughtfully.
After stepping through the portal, the academy arranged for several people to enter virtual space for rapid transit back to Earth, directly teleporting them to Polaris.
Next, Yun Yang wanted to take Rose to meet the members of the Heroic Corps, but Rose refused.
She didn’t even want to stay at Polaris; she wanted to travel around, saying she’d been stuck on Demon One for too long and wanted to see the beautiful landscapes of her homeland.
Yun Yang couldn’t refuse such a simple request. With a single teleport, they arrived atop Mount Tai, where the cold wind howled. But for two gods like Yun Yang and Rose, it felt like a gentle breeze.
In fact, because he craved barbecue, Yun Yang even went back and asked Ge Xiaolun to make a grill and gather some charcoal.
They found a wind-sheltered spot, roasting all sorts of delicious food while exchanging sweet words accumulated over their long separation.
After eating and drinking their fill, Rose looked around and asked, “Yun Yang, did you bring a tent?”
“Huh? No, we have virtual space, don’t we?” Yun Yang was momentarily taken aback. He hadn’t brought a tent because he thought that with Xiao Yi’s virtual space, it would be more comfortable than any tent.
“We’re camping, you know? Without a tent, it doesn’t feel right. Understand?” She playfully tapped Yun Yang’s forehead.
Hearing this, Yun Yang thought it made sense—what kind of camping is it without a tent?
Ge Xiaolun then caught Yun Yang’s uneasy gaze and asked sharply, “Well? How many do you want?”
“Ahem, Brother Lun, I need a tent this time,” Yun Yang replied, feeling a bit embarrassed since he’d already taken several bags of charcoal earlier.
“A tent?” Ge Xiaolun raised an eyebrow and smirked.
“Yes, a tent.”
“How many, Yangzi?”
As he spoke, a black tent appeared on the ground, and he gestured for Yun Yang to take it quickly.
Yun Yang didn’t think much of it and stored it directly in the virtual space.
Through their combined effort, Yun Yang and Rose set up a tent about the size of a double bed.
Rose’s gaze toward Yun Yang grew somewhat strange—almost as if she was looking at him like trash. She suspected that Yun Yang had brought the tent just to get closer to her.
Yun Yang, however, didn’t notice her expression. He was debating whether he should stay in the tent or not.
After deciding he would, he looked back at Rose and noticed her odd expression. He asked, “Hey, hey, what’s with that look?”
“I think you’re lusting after me,” Rose said with a look of disdain.
“You figured that out? Yeah, I’m definitely lusting after you.”
Since Rose had already said it, Yun Yang couldn’t deny it. He turned, grabbed her hand, and dashed into the tent.
And then... nothing happened. Yun Yang hadn’t really thought about what to do here. After all, a tent is still a tent, and the environment wasn’t exactly luxurious.
Rose, lying beside him and looking at him, gradually relaxed from her earlier tension and teased, “Are you going to be a beast, or worse than a beast?”
“That depends on you—what do you want me to be?” Yun Yang blinked.
The implication was clear: if she tempted him now, he’d become a beast; if not, he’d just sleep and be less than a beast.
Rose thought it over and blushed slightly. Softly, she said, “Sleep.”
Then she turned her back to Yun Yang and stopped moving.
Yun Yang didn’t make a fuss. He pulled her into his arms like a body pillow—soft and comfortable—and slowly closed his eyes.
The next day, Yun Yang was rudely awakened by Ge Xiaolun, who insisted they return to attend the victory banquet. The threat from the Gluttonous Beast had been temporarily lifted, so holding a celebration was only natural.
Yun Yang and Rose discussed it and decided not to go. After all, who needs a victory banquet when you have a girlfriend?
That afternoon, the banquet officially began. Lian Feng made a brief speech before the drinking started. Yun Yang even teleported over and downed three large cups in a row as an apology.
After several rounds of drinking and a variety of dishes, Ge Xiaolun was getting tipsy. He was carried to the podium while the crowd’s attention fixed on him, eager to hear what the Galactic Force had to say.
“We have repelled the Gluttonous Beast’s attack, but many problems remain. In a galactic war, a single mistake could destroy Earth. We cannot gamble with the lives of millions of families. The Gluttonous Beast is our primary enemy. We must consider defeat before thinking of victory. Protecting Earth must come first.”
After speaking, Ge Xiaolun drained his cup and prepared to step down. At that moment, a man with Western features spoke up.
“Sir Galactic Force, you only considered the Gluttonous Beast, but there are demons among the invaders as well. Shouldn’t we eliminate them along with the Gluttonous Beast?”
Ge Xiaolun was momentarily stunned. He didn’t know whether to call the man foolish or fearless. Demons had been at war with angels for over twenty thousand years.
Could a small planet like Earth afford to provoke them? Besides, the demons had just saved Earth once. To stir up trouble now would be ungrateful.
Though the factions were hostile, basic decency demanded restraint. Ge Xiaolun took the microphone again.
“We currently lack the capability to attack the demons. We don’t know where they hide. More importantly, demons saved Earth once, so for now, we won’t provoke them.”
“That’s just an excuse! Demons are enemies. Even if they saved Earth, that doesn’t outweigh the fact. The Heroic Corps is just avoiding the issue!” The man stood up angrily and shouted at Ge Xiaolun.
“Enough! If you have opinions, bring them to the meeting!” Lian Feng suddenly stood, sternly interrupting.
Neither spoke further, and the atmosphere at the banquet grew a bit heavy after the Westerner’s words.
Ge Xiaolun raised his cup and approached the man.
“Lieutenant Willis, I know demons have caused havoc in your area and brought you much pain. According to our information, demons are not a problem Earth can handle yet. That will have to wait.”
“Hmph, the Heroic Corps is nothing special,” Willis said, refusing to clink glasses. He downed his drink and stormed off.
Ge Xiaolun felt awkward being ignored and returned to his seat, toasting Zhao Xin gloomily.
Meanwhile, Willis, already outside, stared into the distance, puzzled. Were demons really that powerful? Some minor demons didn’t seem so fearsome.
Something must have happened in recent years. He silently watched the horizon as his cigarettes burned down one by one. It seemed he had grasped something.
Where did the Heroic Corps get their information? Right—Du Rose. She had apparently been taken by demons.
There were rumors that Galactic Force Ge Xiaolun secretly liked Du Rose. Surely that was why the Heroic Corps avoided attacking the demons.
Connecting these dots, Willis felt he had uncovered the truth. He needed to find a way to exploit this traitor allied with the demons.
Yes, a traitor—Du Rose was a traitor. Once she was confirmed as such, the Heroic Corps would have to sever ties with her.
And severing ties wouldn’t be done by mere announcements—it would require a battle with the demons to regain public trust.
The majority of this world consisted of ordinary people. Without their support, the Heroic Corps was nothing. A bold plan suddenly formed in Willis’s mind.
