Chapter 38 Taking in a New Little Brother
“Dad! What are you doing?” Wang Mei, seeing the situation, rushed anxiously to Wang Jinquan’s side.
Wang Jinquan pulled Wang Mei behind him, shielding his daughter with his body.
“Don’t be afraid, sweetheart, your father’s here. Has he threatened you?” he asked Wang Mei gently.
He knew full well he was no match for Gu Xiangnan, but as a father, he would never allow anyone to bully his daughter.
Wang Ke chimed in, “Mei, your brother will always protect you.”
Wang Mei managed a bitter smile as she glanced at Wang Ke’s legs in the wheelchair, uncertain how her brother could defend her.
Gu Xiangnan was not angry; instead, he envied Wang Mei.
Even these two, Wang Jinquan and Wang Ke, as reckless as they were, still knew to protect her.
He himself had left his parents at a young age, their love long forgotten, but at least his mentors had treated him well.
“Dad, Brother, you’re misunderstanding. Gu Xiangnan is my boss’s junior apprentice. My boss entrusted me to look after him,” Wang Mei explained.
“Your boss’s junior apprentice?” Wang Jinquan was a bit confused.
Gu Xiangnan spoke kindly, “Wang Mei is the subordinate of my fifth senior sister, so we’re all on the same side. There’s no grudge between us, so why not let bygones be bygones?”
Wang Mei had just witnessed Gu Xiangnan’s prowess and imposing presence, and now he was willing to step back and make peace.
She felt he was indeed sincere.
Wang Mei offered him a way out, “Yes, Dad, you and Brother were also at fault before. Since Gu Xiangnan isn’t pressing the issue, why not shake hands and make peace?”
At first, hearing only Wang Jinquan’s version, Wang Mei thought Gu Xiangnan was the aggressor.
After moving into the Rose Garden villa, she heard the full story from Gu Xiangnan himself.
She was quite troubled then—how could her father and brother do such things? And they had deceived her.
Wang Jinquan thought for a moment before speaking, “Alright, let’s do as Mei says. Gu Xiangnan, I apologize for my past mistakes. Please forgive me, and it won’t happen again.”
It was no small feat for Wang Jinquan to bow his head and admit fault.
But he knew his daughter’s boss was the God of War of the Northern Frontier, and Gu Xiangnan was his junior apprentice. If he offended them, the God of War might hold his daughter accountable, and she would pay dearly.
Moreover, even Yang Dianfeng was getting close to Gu Xiangnan. If he didn’t wise up, he’d be abandoned by Lord Feng.
Right away, Wang Jinquan urged his son Wang Ke to apologize as well.
Since they were all on the same side, as a gesture of goodwill, Gu Xiangnan healed the injuries of father and son.
“Wow, a miracle doctor!” Wang Jinquan exclaimed, smiling and giving a thumbs up.
Earlier, Yang Dianfeng had said that Gu Xiangnan’s medicine had greatly improved Bai Hua Bing’s nodules.
He hadn’t believed it then, but now he could see Gu Xiangnan’s true ability.
Wang Ke, who had been in a wheelchair for so long, could now walk. He was overjoyed!
But his happiness lasted only a moment before sorrow returned.
He remembered what the doctor had said—his ability to father children had been compromised and would not function well in the future.
“Gu… Brother Nan, the doctor said things down there won’t work well in the future. Could you be kind enough to help me with that too?” Wang Ke grinned obsequiously and bowed to Gu Xiangnan.
“I’ve already healed you just now. If you don’t believe me, try it in the days to come.”
Without hesitation, Wang Ke knelt down, hugging Gu Xiangnan’s leg.
“Brother Nan, let me be your little brother from now on. Whatever you need, just say the word.”
Hearing this, Wang Jinquan was delighted—the Wang family’s bloodline would not be broken, and his old face beamed with joy.
“Mr. Gu, please accept him. And help discipline him, so he doesn’t do such foolish things again.”
Wang Ke added, “If that’s not enough, Brother Nan, why not marry my sister?”
Gu Xiangnan was thoroughly troubled by all this enthusiasm—it left him bewildered.
He couldn’t refuse; wherever he went, Wang Ke would follow.
Gu Xiangnan recalled how his senior sister had looked at Wang Mei today—a young woman, always trailing behind him, it was bound to cause misunderstandings.
Bringing Wang Ke along would avoid suspicion, so he agreed.
Yang Dianfeng called, informing Gu Xiangnan that everything had been handled.
He suspected the Hanfang Association wouldn’t let things rest, so he wanted Azhen and Aqiang to continue accompanying him.
Gu Xiangnan set out with the Wang siblings, followed by Azhen and Aqiang.
Just imagining such a procession, he felt it was too ostentatious, drawing too much attention.
Gu Xiangnan politely declined.
To say Wang Ke was a playboy was no exaggeration—he certainly knew how to have fun.
Wang Ke, eager to please, said, “Brother Nan, let’s celebrate our brotherhood. Let me take you out for some fun!”
“Oh? I just came down from the mountain, I’m not familiar with the city. You arrange it,” Gu Xiangnan shrugged.
“Then let’s go for some special treatment!” Wang Ke grinned mischievously, and turned to Wang Mei, “Sister, you’re a girl, so best not go.”
“What’s special treatment?” Gu Xiangnan was puzzled.
With Wang Mei present, Wang Ke couldn’t explain in detail. “It’s just a bath. Come on, you’ll see when we get there.”
Hearing it was a bath, Wang Mei indeed felt it was not appropriate to join.
“Ah~ Mm~! So comfortable!”
The young female masseuse, dressed in a tiny skirt, lay on the bed, gasping softly.
Gu Xiangnan was hard at work…
Giving her a massage.
Earlier, the masseuse had come in to massage him, but her hands lacked strength. Gu Xiangnan criticized her skills.
The masseuse cursed him silently—massaging was not really her job.
But Gu Xiangnan took over, massaging her instead.
She was so thoroughly massaged that she began making sounds that defied description.
Wang Ke, listening nearby, was tempted and distracted.
Outside in the corridor, a group of young men passed by the private room.
Drawn by the sounds, they peered through the glass window in the door.
Inside, a handsome man was massaging a woman who seemed to be enjoying herself immensely.
The leader among the young men sneered, “Look everyone, this is a gigolo. A disgrace to men!”
“At last, we’ve seen a real gigolo.”
“Wow, he is actually handsome.”
“He’s truly shameful.”
“See, that’s why you need to study hard. Otherwise, you can only make money like this while you’re young.”
They mocked for a while at the door, then moved on.
The masseuse lay limp on the bed after the massage, taking a long time to recover.
Wang Ke flattered, “Brother Nan, you’re amazing! Any woman who ends up with you will be truly blessed!”
Later that evening, Wang Ke drove Gu Xiangnan back to the villa. Wang Mei had already returned by herself.
Early the next morning.
Su Hanyan, who had been working late at the company and hadn’t been home all night, called Gu Xiangnan.
“Xiao Nan, I followed your prescription and made a sample. You’d better come to the company right away.”
Gu Xiangnan took Wang Mei with him to Yi Sheng Company.
“Xiao Nan, this is the first finished product,” Su Hanyan said, holding up a small bottle to Gu Xiangnan. “Let’s test it now.”
Just then Wu Meiyu knocked and entered, “President Su, all the female employees in the office have arrived.”
She stepped aside, and dozens of female employees came in.
Su Hanyan scrutinized them, keeping those with yellowish skin, many wrinkles, acne, or dark circles.
After selection, about twenty remained.
Su Hanyan applied the cream to each woman’s left cheek, leaving the other side untreated as a control.
Before and after application, photos were taken.
“Ah!”
About three minutes later, one of the female employees let out a scream.
