Chapter 115: The Man Is Dead, The Little Girl Remains
Jia Siqi was momentarily stunned.
“Who are you...?” he asked, puzzled.
The car door opened, and three people stepped out one after another.
He recognized Yang Dianfeng and Gu Xiangnan.
But when he saw Zhang Baolian, a flicker of admiration flashed in his eyes.
Jia Siqi’s mind began to wander.
Silently, he plotted to kill the men later and take this beautiful little girl back with him to enjoy at leisure.
“Why are you here? Are you trying to provoke me?” Jia Siqi queried.
Gu Xiangnan scrutinized Jia Siqi for a long time but still couldn’t identify him.
The swollen face looked almost unrecognizable, resembling a pig’s head, and came off as somewhat ridiculous.
He found it hard to connect the arrogant and overbearing rich young master from last night with the man before him.
Yang Dianfeng strained to recognize Jia Siqi, then sneered.
“Young Master Jia, we meet again.”
“Damn it! I was just about to settle scores with you, but you’ve delivered yourselves to me!” he roared.
With a wave of his hand, a hundred men behind him sprang into action. They were well-trained and swiftly leapt from the vehicles.
They quickly loaded their guns and formed a fan-shaped formation.
Cold gun barrels all pointed at the three standing before them.
A smug smile spread across Jia Siqi’s face as he fixed his gaze on Zhang Baolian, his voice dripping with temptation.
“Little beauty, I’ll give you a choice. Come over here and stand by my side, and I’ll spare your life.”
“Follow me, and you’ll enjoy endless wealth and glory, gold and jewels, a life without worries.”
Pausing briefly, a ruthless gleam flashed in his eyes as he continued:
“If you don’t obey, today will be your last day. Guns and knives have no eyes. Think carefully.”
“I’ll give you ten seconds to decide.”
He began the countdown:
“Ten!”
“Nine!”
Before he could say the next number, Zhang Baolian interrupted him.
“No need to count. I’m coming over now.”
Hearing her words, Jia Siqi was ecstatic.
It seemed this little beauty was quite sensible after all.
Zhang Baolian approached with a bright smile.
When she reached him, she slipped into his arms.
Jia Siqi’s heart soared as he pulled her close.
But the next moment, a sharp pain shot through his chest.
He looked down to see a razor-sharp dagger deeply embedded in his heart, blood slowly dripping along the blade.
Zhang Baolian stood beside him, her face radiant with a dazzling smile.
That smile held a trace of cunning and triumph.
“You... how dare you...” Jia Siqi turned in fury, about to order his men to fire.
Gu Xiangnan shouted loudly:
“Full attack!”
The moment the words left his mouth, countless figures suddenly appeared at the scene.
They wore battle armor and war garments.
Some raised flags high, shouting fiercely:
“Charge!”
The voices thundered like the roar of the heavens.
Jia family’s over a hundred men were stunned, exchanging confused glances.
Where had these people come from?
Was this some divine army descending from the skies?
They were all semi-transparent, floating as if without roots, like ghosts.
While they were still bewildered, the undead legion’s warriors had already appeared before them.
“Rat-a-tat-tat-tat!”
Someone raised a submachine gun and fired wildly at the undead legion.
A volley of bullets whistled through the air.
The bullets passed right through the undead soldiers, hitting nothing.
This was downright supernatural!
Around them, only the cries of Jia family’s men could be heard.
Inside the Jia residence, the three Jia brothers were still discussing matters.
The quiet atmosphere was suddenly shattered by gunshots and piercing screams.
Jia Mingxuan’s expression darkened. He gestured, and the butler hurried forward, asking respectfully:
“Master, any orders?”
“What’s happening outside? Why such a commotion?”
“I’ll go check immediately.”
Before the butler left, a panting servant rushed in, face pale with terror.
“It’s terrible, Master! Something’s happened!”
Jia Mingxuan furrowed his brows.
He always demanded strict discipline from his servants; even in emergencies, they must remain composed.
“Calm down. Explain clearly.”
The servant swallowed hard, apparently struggling to speak.
He stammered, “The eldest young master of Third Master’s family... he...”
Upon hearing that it concerned his own son, Third Master felt a dreadful premonition rising in his chest.
He asked urgently, “What happened to the young master?”
“He... was killed!”
Third Master Jia was struck like a thunderbolt, springing up with wide eyes, involuntarily stepping outside.
Jia Mingxuan and Second Master Jia followed closely behind.
The scene before them could only be described as brutal.
Pools of blood flowed like small streams on the ground.
Bodies lay scattered everywhere in various postures, desolate and terrifying.
Around them, Jia family’s henchmen groaned in pain, writhing on the floor.
Jia Siqi lay collapsed on the ground, lifeless.
Blood flowed steadily from his chest, still steaming hot.
The heavy stench of blood filled the air, nauseating.
This place had turned into a living hell.
The horrific sight shocked the Jia brothers deeply.
Third Master Jia collapsed beside his son, weeping bitterly.
Jia Mingxuan and Second Master Jia looked pale, filled with shock and fear.
Since the founding of the Jia family, this was the first time they had been attacked at home.
Jia Mingxuan slipped aside and made two phone calls.
The first was to emergency services.
Within five minutes, an ambulance arrived and took Jia Siqi away, followed by the butler.
Third Master Jia didn’t leave. He wanted to seize the murderer and avenge his son’s death.
His eyes reddened as he growled:
“Who dares kill my son?”
“I do!” Gu Xiangnan stepped forward boldly.
“Who are you? Why kill my son?” Third Master Jia looked up, a cold light flashing in his eyes as he stared intently at Gu Xiangnan.
Gu Xiangnan spoke righteously:
“Your Jia family sent people to secretly harm my elder brother to expand business in Jiangning City.”
“Last night, your son personally tried to wipe us out in one fell swoop.”
“Just now, he gathered over a hundred men armed with submachine guns to hunt us down!”
“Tell me, what deep hatred could there be between us?”
Third Master Jia’s eyes blazed with fury as he shouted:
“Even if my son was in the wrong first, you shouldn’t be so vicious as to openly attack the Jia family!”
“Are your Jia family members so superior that they can’t be killed?” Gu Xiangnan retorted.
Third Master Jia barked fiercely:
“The Jia family is one of the four great families of the provincial capital. Killing my people means making enemies with the entire Jia family and the whole city!”
Yang Dianfeng snorted disdainfully, mocking:
“Hmph, what a big reputation you have.”
“If your Jia family wants us dead, then it’s a battle to the death! We, the barefoot, are not afraid of those wearing shoes!”
“No need to waste words with them,” Zhang Baolian said. “Let’s just get started.”
