Chapter 75 All the Places That Should Be Covered, Are Not Covered!
“More than a hundred people? Brother Nan, you must hold on! I’ll call Boss Feng for help right away!”
Wang Ke was frantic with worry. He hurriedly pulled his phone from his pocket, his fingers trembling as he dialed. He knew Gu Xiangnan was extraordinarily skilled. Yet even the greatest martial artists would struggle to face a hundred foes at once—especially if the enemy was armed.
Sweat beaded on his brow. Wang Ke didn’t dare dwell on it. The call quickly connected, and Yang Dianfeng’s authoritative voice came through:
“Xiao Ke, what’s happened?”
A thunderous crash sounded before Wang Ke could speak—a deafening bang on the rolling door behind him, as if someone had slammed into it. Wang Ke jumped, nearly dropping his phone.
“Boss—Boss Feng, help us!” he stammered.
“What’s going on? Tell me exactly!”
Another tremendous crash echoed. Yang Dianfeng could clearly hear it through the phone.
“Xiao Ke, calm down! Tell me what’s happening, now!” Yang Dianfeng urged.
Wang Ke struggled to collect himself. “Boss Feng, come to the gym—help Brother Nan. There are more than a hundred people here!”
“What? I’ll be right there!” Yang Dianfeng hung up at once and barked to the men at his side, “Gather a hundred brothers, now! Move!”
His face darkened like storm clouds as he strode out.
Wang Ke ended the call and turned toward the rolling door. Suddenly, terrified screams rang out inside the room, followed by another explosive crash. What he saw next was beyond belief—a human-shaped bulge appeared in the metal door, the outline of head and body clearly visible. Someone had been slammed against it with such force that their form was imprinted onto the steel!
Chills crept down Wang Ke’s spine; he drew in a sharp breath.
Bang!
The rolling door burst open, nearly striking Wang Ke. Only a bare opening remained. Cautiously, he peered inside.
Gu Xiangnan stood in the center of the crowd, immaculate—his clothes spotless, not a hair out of place. Several men in white martial arts uniforms, however, were writhing on the ground.
Gu Xiangnan glanced over at Wang Ke, a faint smile playing on his lips.
“Xiao Ke, just wait a little longer. It’ll be over soon.”
“Okay… okay.” Wang Ke replied, still dazed.
Little Loli Taoyao was still pouting, grumbling, “Master, I want candied hawthorn.”
Gu Xiangnan could only sigh and promise, “Alright, once we’re done here, I’ll take you to buy some.”
“Really?” Taoyao’s mood instantly brightened. She threw her arms around Gu Xiangnan’s neck, delighted. “We’ll go right away when it’s over?”
Gu Xiangnan kept his gaze fixed on the Koreans, giving a noncommittal grunt.
“Great! Then leave the rest to Taoyao!” she declared.
Gu Xiangnan raised an eyebrow, surprised.
Taoyao’s expression shifted to one of utter seriousness. She closed her eyes, pressed her palms together with index fingers touching, and began chanting under her breath. Suddenly, she shouted, “Phantasmal Heart Demon—First Layer!”
Purple light gathered at her fingertips, then shot out, burrowing into the bodies of the Koreans.
“Mark!”
Taoyao opened her eyes, which now shimmered with violet light. Purple sigils appeared on the foreheads of her enemies.
Gu Xiangnan was stunned. He hadn’t realized Taoyao was so formidable.
“Hahaha—Is that it?! I thought there’d be something impressive!” the Koreans jeered.
Some of them had been instantly dispatched by Gu Xiangnan already. Now this little girl was putting on a show, and though her solemn performance unnerved them, they soon realized that her actions seemed menacing but hadn’t caused any real harm. Their guard dropped, and they secretly rejoiced.
“Follow my command—avenge yourselves!” Taoyao intoned.
The burly men’s eyes glazed over; their movements became slow and mechanical. It was as if some mysterious power had seized them, turning them into marionettes strung by Taoyao’s will.
One hulking Korean found himself reliving his childhood. His stepfather was beating his mother.
“Don’t hit my mom!”
“Damn brat, disobey me and your mom will pay!” his stepfather snarled.
The boy rushed to the kitchen, seized a cleaver, and brought it down hard on his stepfather. The man fell to his knees, begging for mercy.
He showed none. He kept hacking until his stepfather lay motionless.
Back to reality.
The same burly Korean now tackled another man to the ground, hacking at him with wild fury.
“Die! That’s what you get for hitting my mom! Die!” he howled.
Chaos erupted as the Koreans in the room turned on each other, consumed by their inner demons, locked in a frenzy of mutual destruction. In no time, every one of them had collapsed to the floor.
Wang Ke was petrified, staring in utter shock.
Taoyao dusted off her hands, beaming at Gu Xiangnan. “Master, it’s done! Let’s go buy candied hawthorn!”
Gu Xiangnan was dumbfounded. He stared at the corpses littering the floor, brows tightly knitted.
“Are we just going to leave?”
“What else?” Taoyao asked curiously.
“What about these bodies? If they’re not dealt with, we’ll be in deep trouble.” Gu Xiangnan turned to Wang Ke. “Xiao Ke, when will my brother-in-law arrive?”
Wang Ke finally recovered, wiping sweat from his forehead with his sleeve. “He… he should be here soon.”
Taoyao skipped over with an innocent smile, her bright eyes twinkling. “Master, you think these bodies are hard to handle? It’s easy—let me do it.”
Gu Xiangnan was completely taken aback, frowning as he watched her.
Taoyao strode to the center of the room, closed her eyes, and drew a deep breath—so deep her chest swelled. From the corpses on the ground, pale shadows began to rise, ghostly figures pulled from the bodies by Taoyao’s breath. She inhaled them all.
Gu Xiangnan and Wang Ke gawked in disbelief.
Taoyao ignored them, continuing to draw in the spectral silhouettes until they were all absorbed into her body. The corpses themselves began to shrivel, shrink, and finally collapse into piles of ash.
“What… what were you inhaling?” Gu Xiangnan asked, now seeing Taoyao in a new light.
She replied with a hint of pride, “Their fortune. The more I take, the luckier you’ll become!”
Wang Ke was even more awestruck, almost reverent.
Over a hundred people, dealt with in less than ten minutes. By the time Yang Dianfeng arrived, only a bit of ash would need to be cleared away. The rest was his to handle.
Just then, Gu Xiangnan’s phone chimed. He glanced at the screen—it was a message from Liu Piaopiao, sharing her location at the Huayue Hotel.
Another message arrived immediately after—a photo.
Liu Piaopiao, clad in nothing but lace lingerie.
What little should have been covered was left exposed!
