If General Ross had realized from the start that the soldiers below couldn’t defeat the Abomination, and immediately sent reinforcements, the city might have suffered some damage—but at least it would have shown that the military wasn’t just bullying outsiders, but could protect its own people too.

Whether they could truly protect them was another matter, but at least they would have tried. That would have helped restore a bit of the military’s reputation among the public, so that whenever danger struck, people wouldn’t just look to superheroes for help.

And no matter how poorly the troops performed, they surely couldn’t do worse than that so-called superhero down below. Aside from dodging, what else could he do? His efficiency was even lower than the soldiers’.

“Why don’t you give it a try?” General Ross turned to Bruce Banner. The masked figure below might not be up to the task; in the end, it was always the original troublemaker who had to resolve things. So it was time to call upon Hulk.

Bruce Banner took a breath, his face showing hesitation. He was indecisive by nature—if he’d been asked to act right away, he might have simply closed his eyes and jumped in. But after being interrupted, his initial confidence and courage had faded by half; now, when asked again, he felt it unnecessary.

“Maybe we should give that person a bit more time,” Betty Ross chimed in from the side.

General Ross glared at his daughter, whose loyalties seemed to lie elsewhere, and grew even angrier inside.

What’s the use of having you!

Meanwhile, on the street below, Suye knew he’d had his fun. Teaming up with the Abomination to wreak havoc was entertaining, but dragging it out or expanding the destruction wouldn’t be worth it. After all, this was Red Shield’s first appearance; he couldn’t let people see his lack of enthusiasm for combat, and even less could the Red Shield heroes appear too weak.

So a bit of tactical evasion was fine, but the victory had to be decisive and neat.

He must fully display the Red Shield squad’s brave and victorious spirit!

There would be plenty of chances for demolition in the future.

The Abomination had thrown hundreds of cars, was panting with exhaustion, and his movements slowed. Suye, agile and with deep, steady breath, kept shifting positions, step by step moving closer.

Finally, the distance between them shrank to less than ten meters. As the Abomination reached for another car, Suye suddenly moved—a rolling maneuver right along the ground, slipping past the monster’s sight and sliding right up to him.

The Abomination wondered where Suye had gone in the blink of an eye, when suddenly his jaw felt a chill.

Was that guy about to unleash another barrage on his chin?

Just as the Abomination thought this, he felt a tremendous blow under his armpit.

Wrong—this wasn’t the chin, but it was worse. Half his body went numb instantly.

Next came a heavy hit to his chest, making breathing difficult and bending him forward. As soon as he lowered his head, his jaw was struck with a brutal force.

No escaping the inevitable!

Then came blows to his armpit, abdomen, knees, ankles, even his toes! Except for the triangle-shaped exoskeleton covering his core, every vulnerable spot below the shoulders was struck in quick succession.

The Abomination’s strength was formidable, but Suye was no weakling. His huge physical power, enhanced by the martial artist’s energy, targeted weak points with precise bone techniques.

At that moment, even a powerhouse like the Abomination had the urge to kneel—physiologically compelled to do so.

His limbs were weak, his waist and legs aching, breathing hard. Even if Suye stopped now, the Abomination likely couldn’t retaliate.

Then, Suye’s attack paused for a moment. The Abomination felt a flash of relief, thinking his opponent was tired or about to stop.

“Give me a minute to recover, and you’ll regret it!” he shouted silently, gritting his teeth.

But before his joy lasted half a second, a sharp buzzing sounded from the front, followed by a flash of blue light—a blow several times stronger than before struck his face.

After the elbow strike, a storm of fists and elbows battered his face like a hurricane. In just moments, the Abomination lost all sense of his face.

Finally, he felt a surge of energy pressing down on his chest before exploding.

Shadow Meteor Fist!

Boom!

A massive explosion blasted the Abomination away.

Unlike the previous energy columns erupting beneath him, this blast detonated right under his chin, pressed against his chest. The overwhelming force stunned his mind instantly, flipping his eyes as he passed out in midair.

In front of him, Suye casually dusted his hands. “Well, I really put some effort into that. Your hide is thick!”

Seeing the Abomination fall, the nearby people—who hadn’t managed to escape far—erupted in cheers, expressing their gratitude to Suye for saving them. Surviving felt wonderful.

Agents from S.H.I.E.L.D., led by Phil Coulson and Sharon Carter, arrived at just the right moment.

“Ye S—” Phil Coulson started to speak, but Sharon Carter tugged at him and whispered, “Martial Saint!”

During Suye’s fight with the Abomination, Sharon had already looked up the meaning of his mask.

The red Peking Opera mask represented Guan Gong—red symbolizing loyalty, integrity, and courage. Guan Gong was a famous general in Dragon Country’s history, known as the ‘Martial Saint’.

Suye wore the mask to conceal his identity, so as a competent secretary, Sharon Carter couldn’t let her boss’s disguise be easily uncovered. Coulson could know, but no one else.

There was an English term for Martial Saint—‘Woosung’, more or less a transliteration. To Americans, it just sounded like an Eastern name.

Coulson thought for a moment and understood Sharon’s intent: use a false name to hide the real one. He was well versed in this.

“Thank you for helping us defeat this monster, Mr. Wu Song!”

Suye nearly choked on his salty soda. His mask was clearly Guan Yu—how had they mistaken him for Wu Song? That was quite a difference.

Guan Yu protected his sister-in-law, riding solo for a thousand miles; Wu Song killed his sister-in-law and was exiled a thousand miles. Both stories were heroic, but their natures were completely different.

But foreigners speaking Chinese often get it wrong; not everyone can speak with a thick Northeastern accent, nor can anyone casually belt out an ‘Invisible Wings’ with Teng Da’s flavor. He’d just have to make do.
