At that moment, not far away in the sky, aboard a helicopter, Bruce Banner, Betty Ross, and her father, General Ross, stared tensely at the surveillance feed, where the green-skinned monster known as Abomination was rampaging in a frenzy, smashing everything to pieces.

Less than half an hour earlier, Bruce Banner and Betty Ross had been in the laboratory, where they injected themselves with the antidote created by Dr. Samuel Sterns, and in doing so had "killed" the Hulk.

From that point on, Bruce Banner could finally bid farewell to the fate of being permanently green and live a normal life of humanity with Betty Ross.

But their joy lasted less than a minute before General Ross’s men arrived.

As the American hawk’s representative, General Ross had long been devoted to restoring and studying the super-soldier project. The appearance of the Hulk was, for him, a moment of epochal significance, a secret weapon to fulfill his vision of strengthening the army.

And yet the bird in hand had flown away.

Meanwhile, Emil Blonsky, who had been brutally beaten multiple times during the hunt for Bruce Banner but had refused to give up, driven by bitterness and a warped sense of humanity, forced Dr. Samuel Sterns to transform him into Abomination.

Like the Hulk, Abomination possessed terrifying strength and a savage temperament, so the first thing he did after appearing was seek vengeance on the Hulk. As for killing and destruction, those were merely incidental.

And as Abomination wrought havoc on a grand scale, the soldiers who had joined the operation were slaughtered or wounded beyond count. Even grenade launchers were crushed in his bare hands without achieving anything. The situation was on the verge of spiraling completely out of control.

In such a situation, either more troops would have to be sent in, escalating the battle, or Bruce Banner would have to bring back the Hulk who had already been erased from within him.

And to anyone, bringing back the Hulk seemed to be the better choice.

Bruce Banner came to the rear of the helicopter, ready to make a dramatic leap and, by turning himself into a splatter of paint on the pavement, call the Hulk back. It was a very effective trick; later, in Asgard, he would use it again.

But just as Bruce Banner was about to jump, Betty Ross suddenly grabbed him.

"Betty, you don't need to do this. Whether I can transform or not, I have to try!" Bruce Banner said earnestly, leaning in as if to give Betty Ross one final farewell kiss.

But Betty Ross across from him simply pushed his mouth aside with her hand and pointed down below.

"Bruce, maybe you don't need to take this gamble."

At that moment, not only aboard the helicopter, but almost everyone still alive nearby was staring fixedly at the street.

There, a tall man wearing a red mask was walking slowly toward Abomination.

The man was tall, around six foot three, and powerfully built, yet compared with Abomination, who stood nearly nine feet tall, he seemed insignificant, as though one slap would send him flying into a smear of mud.

And yet more people hoped that this man would become a hero, defeat the green monster, save the city, and save them.

This city had many heroes: Spider-Man, Batman, Green Armor Man. They hoped that the brave man who had stepped forward would be a superhero on par with them.

As for the red mask, no one knew what it signified, but everyone felt that it looked incredibly formidable.

And Su Ye, standing before Abomination, was thinking about something else entirely.

It was not that Su Ye particularly liked studying such things; the problem had truly troubled him for many years. Even before he traveled through time, when he watched movies, he had never understood it.

Under the worried and expectant gazes of the crowd, Abomination snorted through his nose and swung out a palm the size of a fan.

This hand had once flipped cars, crushed grenades, and smashed building walls. Could that man possibly block it?

At that moment, some even worried that the fellow was here just to be funny, and that one slap would send him flying into the sky, turning into a star and vanishing.

On the street, faced with Abomination’s mighty slap, Su Ye did not meet it head-on.

Spider-Man had indeed granted him tremendous strength, but compared with a pure brute like Abomination, there was still a considerable gap.

After all, Abomination’s official strength rating was eighty tons.

So when fighting Abomination, one could not wrestle with him; one had to rely on technique.

Abomination’s slap came down with what should have been a sure hit, yet Su Ye evaded it with a nimble bend of the waist and ducked low.

Then Su Ye planted both hands on the ground, kicked his feet upward, and delivered an ascending counterkick straight to Abomination’s chin.

As for Abomination, though his brain had been somewhat crowded out by muscle, he was still far more capable than the Hulk, whose intelligence was no more than that of a small child.

Not only did he retain much of his own fighting skill and combat instincts, he had even later gone to Macau with Master Wong to make money through arranged fake matches.

But compared with Su Ye’s far too fast movements, all those skills and instincts instantly became useless.

Abomination had not even figured out why that slap had missed when a sharp pain struck his jaw, and then his entire body was kicked into the air.

With one rising counterkick, Su Ye sent Abomination soaring. He did not stop there; immediately after, he followed with a super-shattering cannon kick, feet forward and flames surging around him, like a drilling poisonous dragon, kicking Abomination flying through the air.

After the super-shattering cannon kick, Su Ye landed first, clenched his fist before Abomination, and slammed it fiercely into the ground.

"Energy Fountain!"

Several blazing waves of energy erupted from underground, blasting Abomination, who was just about to hit the ground, into the air once more. After drawing a wavering line through the sky, he crashed far away into a building beside the street.

The scene fell silent in an instant. Whether fleeing soldiers or panicked pedestrians, they all turned back and cast looks of admiration.

That masked man was incredible. Somehow, everyone suddenly felt much safer.

Yet beneath the mask, Su Ye’s expression remained anything but relaxed.

Abomination was not like the enemies he had fought before. Whether Whiplash or Vance Howard, their defensive power had never been as impressive as their offensive power.

But Abomination’s green hide was like a fortress wall. Su Ye had indeed fought with great exhilaration just now, but as for how much damage he had truly inflicted, even he was not certain.

If one had to compare, then among all the defenses he knew, only the Destroyer forged from Asgard’s rare Uru metal, the divine steel of legend, would surely be able to outclass him.
