Chapter 90: Why does Gaia carry such an unmistakably Jojo-like aura?

Rezait came crashing straight at Gaia like a rolling boulder.

As it spun forward, the openings in its defenses clearly vanished for the moment.

Under such circumstances, Gaia naturally did not stand there dumbly; he sprang to the side to evade.

But after he dodged, Rezait did not stop. It rolled around and charged again!

Atsuko blinked, feeling that Gaia’s fighting style this time looked almost like another Ultraman.

"Why is it that even though I’m clearly looking at Gaia, I keep feeling like it’s Jojo?"

Atsuko looked puzzled as she said this.

Jori, seated beside her, nodded in agreement. "I think so too."

Why did Gaia feel so much like Jojo all of a sudden?

Ishimuro thought of Jojo, who was present at the scene, and figured he was probably watching from somewhere.

"Perhaps Ultramen learn from each other’s strengths as comrades."

After offering that simple explanation, Ishimuro’s thoughts were rather different.

Maybe this is Jojo teaching Gamu how to fight.

By now, Rezait, who had been used as a football by Gaia, had likely had enough of the humiliation.

This time it simply stopped rolling. When Gaia was about to continue, its red limbs shot out like tentacles and directly wrapped around Gaia’s ankles!

Lying face down on the ground, he was now being savagely whipped across the back by Rezait.

With his legs bound by red tentacles, Gaia could not help but look toward Jojo and cry out through telepathy, "Jojo, stop just watching!"

You’ve been standing there watching for ages. Why are you still watching now?

Jojo raised his wrist. After a brief moment of thought, he lowered it again; the transformation device vanished. Then he looked at Gaia and replied by telepathy as well, "Gamu, stand up! Stop always thinking of relying on others!"

"Think of a way to get back up, Gamu!"

The atmosphere somehow turned retro and earnest, and by the end of his words Jojo’s tone was full of sternness.

Gaia planted his hands on the ground, trying to rise, but at that moment Rezait yanked on his legs and retracted its tentacles, dragging him close!

Then two more tentacles wrapped around Gaia’s arms and lifted him off the ground!

Gaia’s back was pressed against Rezait, and once the other creature’s body turned bright red, he immediately felt searing pain from the heat.

"Jojo!"

Faced with Gaia’s telepathic call, Jojo’s expression did not change in the slightest. He kept his gaze fixed on Gaia’s eyes and answered through telepathy, "Never give up at any time, Gamu! Remember that you are an Ultraman!"

Those words brought a look of awakening into Gaia’s pained expression.

Gamu suddenly remembered the purpose of this transformation and battle!

Jojo had been growing constantly, while Fujimiya was fighting to change humanity.

Encouraging himself inwardly, Gamu recalled the way Jojo absorbed energy.

With an Ultraman battle roar, Gaia’s body burst forth with white light!

All of the superheated energy released by Rezait was absorbed into Gaia’s body!

The energy timer, which had been flashing red, turned blue again under this replenishment of power!

With its bodily energy drained away, Rezait suddenly felt weak all over, and the tentacles wrapped around Gaia loosened.

But Gaia would not let it go. His red hand seized one of Rezait’s tentacles and tore violently!

Two tentacles were ripped clean off by Gaia, and Rezait let out a miserable shriek.

But it was still not over.

Gaia gathered energy in both hands, concentrating the white radiance spreading across his body into his palms!

He thrust them into the gap in Rezait’s defenses, and immediately began absorbing energy once more!

A surging torrent poured from Gaia’s arms into the energy timer without cease.

Thinking of the way Jojo changed forms, Gaia compressed and condensed that energy again!

Rezait trembled all over and lashed out with its tentacles in an attempt to resist.

But by then it had been drained so thoroughly that it could barely muster any strength. The red tentacles striking Gaia instead looked more like feeble flailing.

Seeing this, Jojo fell silent, looking at the strangely familiar scene before him.

I told you to win with your own strength, not to pull some heart-powered cheat.

Last time, when Gamu asked about the principle behind energy absorption, he had assumed it meant at most knocking the enemy down and then absorbing energy to recover himself.

But looking at the situation now, it was clearly a forced absorption.

At this point Rezait looked as though it had been completely drained dry, its whole body going limp, utterly finished.

Gaia withdrew his hands, and the absorbed energy condensed within the timer!

He clenched both fists and crossed them over his chest, compressing that energy into a core, then suddenly swept both arms downward and apart!

A faint light flashed across his body, and his colors shifted.

Gaia’s original coloration had been silver and red, the two mingling in balance.

Now, after entering his new form, red dominated most of his body, while silver became stripe-like accents.

Not only had the colors been rearranged, but his entire physique had grown more robust as well.

He seemed to be taking the first steps toward a powerfully built form.

Gaia: Red Gravity Form!

Having completed the transformation, Gaia seized Rezait with his huge red hands and hurled it high into the sky.

Then he bent his left arm into a fist, extended his right arm straight out, and as his arms moved, a ring of golden energy rapidly gathered.

Once the energy conversion was complete, he formed his arms into an L-shape and aimed at Rezait!

A red-gold Quantum Stream was unleashed!

Perhaps because he had learned from Jojo, Gaia also no longer wanted to leave the monster’s corpse in pieces.

The Quantum Stream struck Rezait and instantly blasted it into dust scattered across the heavens.
