Chapter 55: Honey on Her Lips

Feng Yuan was dressed in the uniform of the Mic Team, his face twisted in anger. He had just appeared, his back to Qiao Zhe, sprinting relentlessly while uttering curses in the style of the Showa era:

“These two beasts! That Magma Star bastard! I swear I will—huh? Where is this?!”

Mid-rant, he suddenly noticed the environment had shifted, and stopped in his tracks. Alert now, Feng Yuan raised his head to survey the unfamiliar space. He had been racing toward Black Tide Island only moments ago, but now found himself here. Perhaps it was the scheme of some alien.

“Damn it! Time is running out! I can’t stay here any longer!”

Unable to discern the cause, Feng Yuan’s expression grew anxious. That Magma Star fiend had once again unleashed the twin monsters upon Black Tide Island! If he didn’t hurry, the island could be submerged!

“Who’s there! Show yourself!” Feng Yuan shouted up at the energy shield of the training ground, stubbornly refusing to look behind him. “Damn you, rat lurking in the gutter! Let me leave!”

Qiao Zhe: “...”

Truly, a man of the Showa era—his tongue as sharp as honey.

“No need to shout.”

After calling out to Feng Yuan, Qiao Zhe approached, explaining, “The flow of time here has been altered. An hour in this space is but a second outside, even in your universe.”

Hearing the voice behind him, Feng Yuan spun around in alarm.

“Who are you?” Seeing Qiao Zhe’s human form, Feng Yuan’s hostility waned, though he remained cautious. Aliens could mimic humans; perhaps this man was one in disguise.

A flash lit up in Feng Yuan’s pupils as he activated the Ultra Eye. Since he himself was Leo, disguised as a human, he could use some superhuman abilities even in his earthly form. His eyes emitted a wave of penetrating light, able to see through transformations or disguises of aliens or monsters.

But to his surprise, all he saw was a field of photon energy.

“Photon energy!”

Feng Yuan cried out in astonishment, turning to Qiao Zhe. “Are you an Ultraman too?”

He was uncertain, for while he saw energy, he could not discern the form of an Ultraman.

“I am Qiao Zhe Joestar,” Qiao Zhe replied, coming to stand beside Feng Yuan and introducing himself simply, “I am also Ultraman JOJO.”

Upon hearing this confirmation, Feng Yuan’s face lit up with joy.

“That’s wonderful! I am Feng Yuan, Leo Ultraman as well!”

As he spoke, a thought struck him and he seized Qiao Zhe’s arm. “JOJO-san! You must help me! That Magma Star villain has brought the twin monsters to invade Black Tide Island! I need your help! If we transform and fight together, we can take down all three of those beasts!”

Feng Yuan, a relic from the Showa era, clearly despised the Magma Star aliens, and his speech was peppered with expletives. His accent betrayed the flavor of old Shanghai, reminiscent of classic film dubs.

Qiao Zhe inwardly remarked upon this, then looked at Feng Yuan and said, “I can’t help you right now.”

“Why not?” Feng Yuan demanded, gripping Qiao Zhe’s hand tighter, as if afraid he might flee. “Seven can no longer transform! Only the two of us remain who can fight on Earth!”

“Calm down, don’t get agitated,” Qiao Zhe said, feeling the strength in Feng Yuan’s grasp and soothing him before explaining, “What I mean is, you and I are not in the same universe at the moment.”

“It’s thanks to this training ground that we’ve happened to meet. I can’t cross over to your side.”

If it were possible, Qiao Zhe would certainly help Feng Yuan—after all, the monsters there would be no challenge for him. Even the final boss, the Disk Creature, would be dispatched with a single beam.

Upon understanding this, Feng Yuan’s spirits sank.

“I see...”

Earlier, he had rushed to Black Tide Island against Astra’s advice, driven by impulse but lacking true confidence.

Seeing the expression on Feng Yuan’s face, Qiao Zhe placed a hand on his shoulder. “Feng Yuan, you want to protect the Earth, your second home, with your own hands, don’t you?”

“Even without my help, you must hold onto a resolve for victory!”

“Besides, relying on others will only create weakness in yourself. In the end, you can only depend on yourself!”

Feng Yuan was stunned for a moment by these words. The more he pondered, the more resolute he became. “I understand!”

Earth was his second homeland—he could not allow any enemy to destroy it!

“Relax,” Qiao Zhe said with a smile, patting Feng Yuan’s shoulder and considering, “If you wish to defeat the twin monsters and the Magma Star alien, you can’t do it as you are now.”

Feng Yuan bristled at this, but before he could protest, Qiao Zhe continued, “But if you learn Ripple, dispatching them will be as easy as sprinkling water.”

“Ripple?” Feng Yuan asked, puzzled.

“Yes, Ripple!” Qiao Zhe said, and his transformation device appeared on his wrist. He gestured to Feng Yuan, “Let’s transform. I’ll transmit the information to you directly through the light!”

“But in exchange, I’d like to learn your Cosmic Fist.”

What mattered was not the moves themselves, but the technique behind the Cosmic Fist.

“Alright, no problem,” Feng Yuan agreed with a nod. If things were as JOJO claimed, he had no qualms about sharing his technique.

A silver-white radiance blossomed before Feng Yuan, and in his vision, Qiao Zhe’s body transformed into a towering silver giant.

Seeing this, Feng Yuan felt completely at ease. As long as his counterpart was an Ultraman, he was willing to trust him.

He raised his fists and struck a pose. The Lion’s Eye he wore burst forth with light!

“Leo!”

With a mighty shout, the red giant somersaulted and landed. Leo’s body was all crimson, his abdomen marked with the symbol of L77, his chest adorned with silver armor, his head crowned with pronounced horns.

JOJO stepped beside Leo, tracing his hand across the Y-shaped energy core on his chest. A sphere of light, containing information, flew out.

Considering Leo’s predicament, JOJO transmitted not only Ripple, but other skills as well.

Ripple, Specium Ray, Rainbow Specium Ray, Phase Shift Wave Ray, Ultra Telekinesis, Particle Feather, Eight-Part Light Wheel, Circular Shield, Ultra Light Sword.

Ripple included practical techniques and developed moves—it was a true martial arts skill.

He wondered if this counted as giving Leo a cheat.

With that thought, JOJO motioned at Leo, and the sphere of light flew into the energy timer on Leo’s chest.

Thanks to previous experiments, he knew memories could be taken out of the training field, so he proceeded accordingly.
