Chapter 84 The Prisoners of the Nation of Light (10)
Always relying on the techniques of others will never feel as natural as one’s own. At the very least, after mastering them, one must begin to adapt and transform them into personal skills. Only the light one develops through their own efforts will truly suit themselves, allowing them to unleash even greater power.
Qiao Zhe already had his own ideas about this. The four skills he chose this time were also meant to diversify his means of confronting opponents.
Teleportation—a technique combining Ultra Psychokinesis and light energy, focusing one’s mind to release energy and instantly move to the desired location. The maximum range could span light-years, depending on how much energy was expended during use. For short-range teleportation, the energy consumption was not substantial.
Radiant Conversion—absorbing an enemy’s attack with the arm and condensing it into a light sphere to counter-attack. This move could even be advanced into a knuckle-based variant.
Storm Blade—a lightsaber extending from the back of the arm, possessing formidable cutting and disintegration power, capable of annihilating enemies at the molecular level.
Ultra Amplification—a skill that releases one’s energy and doubles one’s size. For instance, if Jojo’s transformed form is sixty meters tall, this move would enlarge him to one hundred and twenty meters. Of course, doubling the size also doubles the energy consumption.
After pressing the confirm key on the virtual panel, the AI’s voice sounded in his ear.
[This simulation training target: Teleportation, Radiant Conversion, Storm Blade, Ultra Amplification.]
[Countdown begins: 30, 29, 28...]
The Land of Light in the Leo Universe.
The glow of the Plasma Spark Tower still illuminated this planet.
Floating above the Land of Light was a black cubic structure—the Cosmic Prison.
Back when Belial invaded the Land of Light, the King of Ultra had merely clapped his hands and, using his psychokinesis, casually fashioned this construct, which remained indestructible to this day.
At this moment, deep within the Cosmic Prison, Belial’s entire body was embedded in the wall, only his head exposed, sleeping in utter peace.
But in the next moment, his consciousness was silently and unknowingly pulled into the training arena.
His skin was a mix of black and red, with a purple energy timer on his chest, claws long and razor-sharp, his mouth split wide in a ferocious snarl, and his eyes narrow and menacing.
No sooner had he arrived in the training ground than Belial awoke from sleep! Crimson light suddenly flashed in his eyes. Hunched, he took a few steps, looking at his now-mobile hands.
Realizing what had happened, Belial threw his head back in excitement and let out a guttural roar:
“Urgh! Urrraaaah!”
The exhilaration of escaping the Cosmic Prison was vented in a wild, thunderous howl.
A wave of sound and wind swept past, making Qiao Zhe squint against the blast.
“Belial, you sure know how to make a racket. Does Mary know about this?”
He wondered if this old villain was really from the Leo Universe, and continued to probe.
“Oh—that’s right, I forgot. Mary married the Father of Ultra long ago. She should be called the Mother of Ultra now.”
The last time he’d met Leo, he’d been too busy advising him on combat to ask about the Land of Light. But at the time, Leo had been on Earth—he probably hadn’t been to the Land of Light either.
Belial’s howling ceased as he heard Qiao Zhe’s words.
He flexed his arms, rolled his shoulders, and cracked his neck, his crimson eyes fixing on Qiao Zhe.
A human on the verge of evolution—Belial was reminded of the past. But none of that mattered. Qiao Zhe’s words had precisely hit a nerve, which was exactly his intention.
Belial felt provoked.
With a sudden leap, the black-and-red figure stomped down at Qiao Zhe!
Qiao Zhe had been on guard. As Belial’s massive foot came down, he silently called out, “Star Platinum!”
A purple figure flashed forth, whisking Qiao Zhe’s body away in an instant.
Belial’s foot crashed down where Qiao Zhe had just stood, grinding the spot with force.
“Ant,” he sneered, lips curled in disdain.
Those guys from Kane’s group had even sent people to Earth to protect humans. Such feeble creatures—Belial couldn’t fathom what was worth protecting.
Now, with Belial fully corrupted, he felt no trace of mercy. Killing a human was as insignificant as crushing an ant.
“Hey, what are you so happily stomping on?”
Qiao Zhe’s voice sounded from behind him, making Belial pause mid-step.
“Hoh, not bad,” Belial remarked, sensing the unusual aura behind him. He spun and swung a clawed hand!
A black-and-red energy sphere shot forth, hurtling toward Qiao Zhe!
Just as it was about to strike, a burst of silvery-white light flared!
Seeing this, Belial immediately understood, “So you’re an Ultra Warrior as well. Heh heh.”
With a low, strange chuckle, Belial lunged at Jojo!
Ultras often unleashed massive energy when transforming and growing in size, but Belial wasn’t afraid in the slightest.
His claws, enveloped in black-and-red cutting energy, slashed viciously toward Jojo!
For most Ultras, such a sudden assault would have caught them off guard—but Jojo was even faster.
A silver hand shot out from the radiance, seizing Belial’s wrist. “You love sneak attacks so much, no wonder Mary only liked Kane.”
As the light faded, the towering silver giant looked down at Belial, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
Because of Belial’s hunched posture and the fact he was already shorter than Jojo, he seemed even smaller now.
“You little brat, you’re asking for death!” Belial snarled up at Jojo, straining to bring his claws down.
But he couldn’t succeed—Jojo’s strength was no less than his own.
A flicker of surprise flashed through Belial’s mind. He swung his other hand upward, black-and-red energy erupting forth!
Jojo’s palm, also charged with cutting energy, struck with a gleaming white chop!
Sparks exploded!
Sparks flew from Jojo’s hand, yet Belial’s claws remained unscathed.
The exchange happened in a flash. Feeling his gathered energy broken, Jojo was startled and immediately backed away!
Belial’s claws were not just fingers—they were deadly weapons.
“Running already, brat?”
Noticing Jojo’s retreat, Belial pressed the attack with a peal of laughter, “Is that all you’ve got?”
He could move at Mach 22. For most Ultras, it would be nearly impossible to escape his grasp at such close range.
Yet Jojo was even faster. Still, in the training arena, unlimited flight wasn’t possible—eventually, one would hit the energy barrier.
Jojo clearly understood this.
Once some distance was gained, Jojo swiftly gathered energy at his wrists, bringing his hands together in a cross!
The Specium Ray burst forth!
Belial raised a single hand to his chest, his claws blocking the ray.
He was about to sneer when he suddenly sensed something amiss!
Channeling dark power into his claws, he swung fiercely!
He shattered Jojo’s Specium Ray, then raised his hand to inspect his claws.
Several cracks had appeared—had he been any slower, his fingers might have snapped.
“Who are you, brat?!”
