Chapter 132: I'll Make Your Life Miserable When We Get Back!
"Why does such a monster exist?"
Takatsuki, finally recovering from his dizziness, gazed at the Arachnea with a look of sheer horror on his face. Where did such a monster come from? As a police officer, why had he heard absolutely nothing about it? The three people who had suddenly appeared were clearly there specifically to deal with this creature. From the combat uniform worn by Mizorogi, it was evident he belonged to some sort of special unit. Their experienced, unfazed demeanor suggested that they had encountered and handled such monsters many times before.
As a police inspector, Takatsuki possessed strong analytical skills. He managed to sort out the situation and make a rough guess in a short amount of time, unlike a certain ill-fated pilot from the neighboring district.
"Wait, Shiori!"
Suddenly remembering Shiori's condition, Takatsuki turned his head to look beside him. Shiori had just picked herself up from the ground and hurried to his side. "Takatsuki-san! Are you alright?" Her tone was laced with concern as she reached out to steady him.
"Why did you rush over like that? That was too reckless!"
"Shiori, I couldn't let you get hurt," Takatsuki said, rising to his feet. He had only bumped his head; he wasn't seriously injured. "Besides, there was something I hadn't finished saying to you."
"Actually, last night, I wanted to ask how you felt about me."
Interrupted by a series of events, he felt that if he didn't say it now, he might never get the chance. Shiori, holding his arm, averted her gaze. "Why are you bringing this up so suddenly?"
"I've only just realized it now," Takatsuki said, looking at her with a serious expression. "I like you."
Caught off guard by the sudden confession, Shiori stood frozen. She avoided his eyes, unsure of how to respond. Her mouth opened slightly, but the words seemed stuck in her throat; she could only stare back at him.
Mizorogi, still locked in a life-or-death struggle with the Arachnea, felt even more infuriated upon hearing their conversation. Here he was, fighting for his life, and those two were busy confessing their love!
*So that’s how it is, Takatsuki! Very well, you really know how to play this game!*
With a side kick that sent the Arachnea stumbling backward, Mizorogi turned to glare at Takatsuki, memorizing his face. *If I can’t beat Jojo, I can’t even handle a rookie like you?*
"Focus on the fight!" Qiao Zhe’s voice rang out with stern authority. He then looked at the two behind him with a hint of dissatisfaction. "You two, this is not the time for confessions."
His gaze lingered on Takatsuki's face for a moment, thinking that Shinjou had really outdone himself—his spacetime counterpart actually had someone who loved him.
With the plot now altered, Kira Sawa was in the mountain base. Since no one had notified them of the Space Beast's location, the Night Raiders naturally hadn't been deployed; besides, only Night Raider Team B remained at TLT. Qiao Zhe quickly pieced together the situation and glanced at Takatsuki again. Since he hadn't been wiped by the Memory Police, this confession was a success.
Both Shiori and Takatsuki turned their eyes toward Qiao Zhe. Takatsuki walked to the side and pulled out his service pistol. "By the way, who are you people? And what is this monster?"
As he asked, he disengaged the safety and aimed at the Arachnea, intending to tell Mizorogi to move aside. Suddenly, a wave of red energy—Ultra telekinesis—struck the pistol, and he felt a sharp pain in his palm!
"Argh! It's burning!"
Takatsuki reflexively let go, and the gun clattered to the ground.
"What are you doing?" Shiori asked, looking at him in confusion as she crouched down to pick up the weapon. The moment she touched it, she pulled her hand back. "What's going on? It's so hot!"
"Don't disturb Mizorogi's training," Qiao Zhe said, casting a glance at them.
Takatsuki began to realize the nature of the strange phenomenon. "You have superpowers?! Was that you?"
Qiao Zhe watched Mizorogi, who was once again engaged in combat with the Arachnea. He spoke to Takatsuki and Shiori, while also offering a reminder to Mizorogi.
"Relying on weapons to deal with Space Beasts makes it difficult to completely eradicate their cells. Even if a powerful weapon has enough force to kill the beast, the remaining cells will allow it to revive. Therefore, you must use the power of light!"
Takatsuki was only half-understanding, his gaze fixed on the Arachnea. "Space Beast? Is that what you call this monster? And what is the 'power of light'?"
Shiori and Himeya Jun, watching from the side, were equally bewildered. Mizorogi, however, understood. But just as he was pondering this, *whoosh!*
The Arachnea's tail lashed out, wrapping around Mizorogi’s wrist and yanking him forward!
"Damn it!"
Cursing, Mizorogi planted his feet to stop his momentum and grabbed the tail with his free hand. Using a technique to divert the pulling force, he spun around and flung the Arachnea away! However, the tail remained tightly coiled around his wrist, dragging his body along, and both of them crashed to the ground.
The tail tightened rapidly around Mizorogi’s wrist.
"Damn it!" Mizorogi was dragged across the ground toward the Arachnea. He struggled to pry the tail loose, but his wrist was trapped, and he was getting closer and closer to the beast!
*Bang!*
They collided. The Arachnea's blue head and hideous mandibles were right in front of him! Its red eyes were full of cruelty. Mizorogi’s face turned deathly pale. Seeing the sharp hook-claws swinging toward him, he gritted his teeth and channeled light energy into his free right hand!
*I can't die! I can't die yet! How could I possibly die here!*
His glowing right hand caught the blue hook-claw. Thanks to the light energy, his palm didn't bleed or suffer injury, but the sheer force of the Arachnea caused his arm to buckle. The tip of the hook-claw stopped right near his throat!
The feeling of impending death caused his focus to sharpen to its peak. In that moment, fear vanished from his heart! Humans are creatures who fear injury when they are unharmed, but once truly wounded, they transform into terrifying, upright-walking beasts. In the same vein, while Mizorogi feared death, the moment he felt it was truly upon him, he stopped being afraid.
All he wanted now was to kill the Arachnea!
Mizorogi’s trapped wrist rotated rapidly around the creature's head, using its own tail to strangle its neck! He then lashed out with a vicious kick! Whether or not a Space Beast needed to breathe, the constriction around its neck caused it immediate distress. The tail coiled around Mizorogi’s wrist loosened instinctively, and immediately after, the beast took two heavy blows to the head!
Clutching the Arachnea’s tail to keep its neck pinned, Mizorogi scrambled to his feet, his glowing right fist raining down blow after blow! *Bang, bang, bang!* Like a pile driver, he hammered relentlessly at the Arachnea's head!
