As soon as He Yang stepped into the haunted house, she turned around and spoke to the camera her assistant was holding.
“Hello, everyone, it’s me again, your favorite explorer, Yangyangzi! Today, we’ve come to the least scary haunted house in Tianjing City.”
After speaking, she took out her phone and pulled up some negative reviews about the place.
“Hahaha, I’ve never seen such unanimous bad ratings! So today, let’s see for ourselves—could it really be as terrible as the rumors say?”
With that, she walked straight up to her assistant. “How’s the footage? Did you get it?”
Her assistant nodded. “Don’t worry, it’s perfect!”
Afterwards, the two of them watched the video they had just recorded.
“Wait a second. Rewind a bit to just now,” she said.
Her assistant looked puzzled. “What’s wrong? Was the shot no good?”
“No, look closely. What’s that red thing?”
Her assistant scratched his head, then zoomed in on the red spot bit by bit. When it was enlarged enough, they finally saw clearly: it was a red shadow shaped like a person.
At that sight, both of them felt chills run down their spines, but being seasoned adventurers, they quickly reasoned it must be some trick of the haunted house.
Even so, they looked over in that direction—only to find nothing there at all.
While they were still trying to figure it out, they suddenly felt something drift past behind them, carrying a cold gust of wind.
But when they turned, there was only endless darkness.
“This place is getting interesting. Start recording everything,” He Yang said with a surprising grin.
Her assistant nodded, feeling too that this haunted house wasn’t as simple as the rumors claimed.
With the camera rolling, He Yang began to exaggerate for the lens.
“Oh my god, I was just here filming the intro, and you won’t believe what happened…”
Even now, they hadn’t realized how serious things were.
They kept wandering through the haunted attraction, glancing around, hoping for the next scare to appear.
When their excitement began to wane, they saw a painting hanging on the wall.
It was one of the crude monster faces that decorated the haunted house, so poorly made that it wasn’t frightening at all.
Standing before the painting, He Yang pointed and laughed. “Haha, this haunted house is hilarious—they think this painting will scare anyone?”
Her assistant grinned too, putting on a campy tone. “Oh, well, this place is doing its best. We can’t ask for more.”
“Haha, this thing doesn’t even look like a person or a ghost, and it’s done in crayon! Even if it crawled out of the painting, it wouldn’t scare anyone, right?”
“Hahaha~”

The two kept laughing, but gradually their laughter faded away.
“Haha… Did you just see its eyes move?”
“Huh? I thought its mouth moved?”
They exchanged glances, both seeing disbelief in the other’s eyes.
Turning back to the painting, they saw the ghost inside had already leaned halfway out, as if crawling out, its blood-red eyes fixed roundly on them.
“Ah!!!”
Instinctively, He Yang screamed and slapped at the ghost, but something even more terrifying happened—
Her hand went straight through the apparition, striking only empty air.
Which meant the thing before her wasn’t a person in disguise. In other words—
“Ah!!!”
Another shriek, and both He Yang and her assistant bolted for their lives.
But as she ran, He Yang tripped over something. When she scrambled back up, she saw a round object on the ground.
Reaching out, she felt something soft and furry.
Before she could react, the thing began to move, turning around slowly. Only then did He Yang see what it was.
It was a human head, its face twisted in terror, staring up at her, blood seeming to trickle from the corner of its eye.
Could the furry thing she just touched have been the head’s hair?
She froze for just a moment, but as she snapped back to herself, the head’s mouth opened and closed, speaking.
Listening closely, it said, “I died such a terrible death~”
“Damn it!”
He Yang cursed, scrambling backwards until she hit the wall.
Only then did she realize something even more serious.
Where had her assistant gone?
Staring ahead into the unending darkness, He Yang’s heart pounded. She had never been so afraid.
Damn it, a living person disappeared right before her eyes—who wouldn’t be scared?
Just then, she felt the wall behind her was uneven, poking uncomfortably into her back. She glanced over her shoulder on instinct—
And almost lost her soul to fear.
The wall behind her was covered, densely packed, with eyeballs. And all of them were staring at her!

“Ah!!!”
He Yang’s scream echoed through the entire haunted house. She couldn’t care about anything else now and began to shout.
“I’m done! I’m not playing anymore! Let me out! Or I’ll make sure your haunted house never gets another customer!”
But her cries met only silence.
“Damn it! Did you hear me? Let me out! There really are ghosts here!”
Still, no reply.
Trembling, she looked toward the entrance, where something seemed to be flickering.
Swallowing hard, she rubbed her eyes and looked again—there, a red shadow of a person was visible.
She had only just made out the red figure when it rushed at her.
“Ah!!! Help!!!”
Screaming, she sprinted toward the exit.
Right now, she cursed her parents for only giving her two legs—wouldn’t a few more be better?
She squeezed her eyes shut and charged forward, but suddenly collided with something.
It was warm, giving her a sense of safety.
Opening her eyes, she saw the back of a person—and from the shape, it looked like her assistant.
Once she was sure the ghost hadn’t followed, she spoke.
“Where did you run off to? Do you know what I just went through? Huh?”
Her terror morphed into anger at the sight of a familiar face, and she yelled at the top of her lungs.
That was just how she was—her temper flared most at those closest to her.
However, the “assistant” before her only trembled slightly, then began to turn around at an unnaturally slow pace.
When she finally saw the assistant’s face, He Yang was completely petrified.
The assistant’s expression was grotesque and terrifying, his neck twisted at an impossible angle, muttering ceaselessly,
“I… just died… right now…”
“Ah!!!”
Letting out another scream, He Yang shoved him aside and dashed madly for the exit, desperate to leave everything behind.
