The moment the princess said those words, everyone present was stunned. They could not understand how the princess of the Sunset Kingdom could possibly say something like that on an occasion such as this.
Anyone performing at the Arts Festival had to be among the finest artists from their respective regions. Even if their dancing was not particularly good, there was no need to criticize them so harshly, was there?
Besides, the dance they had just performed had been stunningly beautiful, utterly flawless. Why, then, was the princess so furious?
While everyone stood in shock, the members of the Wesford family began whispering among themselves.
“Looks like the Third Princess is scared after all.”
“What should we do now?”
“What else? We follow the king’s orders. If she dares to run, we force her back into her seat.”
“But let’s wait and see. As long as she does not actually show signs of leaving, we do nothing.”
Indeed, the Wesford family had come here mainly to keep an eye on the princess and prevent her from fleeing at a critical moment.
After all, if guards stopped the princess in full view of the public, people would inevitably start imagining things.
Sure enough, after shouting an angry curse, the princess immediately charged onto the stage, brazenly interrupting the dance.
The young women who had just been dancing were completely dumbfounded. They stared at the princess in terror, too frightened to say a word.
Since a member of the royal family was present today, they had performed with even greater dedication. Why, then, had they somehow offended this princess?
The princess spoke again.
“Are you really a professional dance troupe? How can your dancing be so amateurish?”
Seeing that the princess clearly had no intention of letting the matter go, the troupe’s head instructor could no longer remain seated. She hurried forward with an ingratiating smile.
“May I ask what the problem is?”
The atmosphere grew extremely strange. Apart from the dancers, everyone else watched with amusement and schadenfreude.
The princess placed one hand on her slender waist.
“You want me to spell it out, is that it? Fine, I’ll be blunt. Your dancing is terrible! So I’m going to teach you how to dance myself!”
The instant those words left her mouth, the entire hall fell silent. Everyone stared at the princess in bewilderment.
What?
The princess of the Sunset Kingdom was actually going to personally instruct a dance troupe?
It was hard to believe, but that was exactly what she had said.
The other troupes, watching gleefully from the sidelines, widened their eyes.
The princess of the royal family was going to teach them herself?
Why? On what grounds?

Just because their dancing was supposedly terrible?
Though they were unwilling to accept it, that was the reality. All they could do was envy the troupe for its incredible stroke of luck.
But what the princess did next was utterly baffling.
She suddenly pulled off the thick formal gown that covered her outermost layer of clothing, revealing the casual outfit she wore beneath it.
Only then did everyone get a clear look at what the so-called princess of the Sunset Kingdom actually looked like.
Wavy golden hair cascaded over her shoulders, and a pair of sapphire-blue eyes gleamed with light.
She was beautiful—astonishingly beautiful—and possessed a bold, spirited air.
If anyone had previously doubted her identity as the princess of the Sunset Kingdom, those doubts vanished completely.
Her appearance perfectly matched everyone’s fantasy of what a princess should look like. The entire crowd stared at her, utterly entranced.
The princess snapped her fingers.
“Play some music, will you? Something with a beat!”
The musicians backstage immediately understood and began playing a popular, high-energy song.
As the music started, the princess’s body began to sway along with it.
Gradually, the tempo quickened, and her movements grew faster as well.
If dancing truly reflected the dancer’s inner world, then the princess’s inner world was clearly boiling over.
The music was exhilarating, and the princess danced with even greater intensity.
But that was not the most important part.
The most important part was that, as she danced, the amount of clothing on her body seemed to decrease, little by little, until the situation began to take an alarming turn.
The others stood with their jaws hanging open, staring blankly as the princess stole the entire spotlight onstage.
It was only after a long while that someone finally came to his senses, turned away, and covered his eyes.
“You idiots! The princess of the royal family is dancing for you, and you actually have the nerve to watch?”
After that reminder, everyone turned around and squeezed their eyes shut, not daring to look.
After all, the dignity of the royal family could not be sullied in the slightest. If word of what happened today reached the ears of that mad king…
They were finished. Completely finished. Wouldn’t that be the end of them?
The beauty was certainly captivating, and they wanted to watch her too. But compared with admiring a beautiful woman, they valued their own lives more.
Yet among everyone present, only three people did not turn away.
They were the three members of the Wesford family.

“What is this princess doing?”
“She must be looking for a chance to escape. Should we go up there?”
“Wait a little longer!”
The eldest son of the Wesford family had just been about to suggest that they continue observing the situation when the princess below erupted completely.
She swiftly kicked off her elegant high heels, spun around, and ran. The others had barely looked in her direction and did not react in time.
Seeing this, the three Wesford brothers could no longer hold back. They sprang to their feet and rushed after her.
The pursuit they had imagined never took place. Unexpectedly, the princess offered almost no resistance and was escorted back to her seat by the three Wesford brothers.
Everyone else was stunned once again.
Had the Wesford family grown tired of living? How dare they treat the princess like that?
But then someone remembered that the Wesford family had already married into the royal household. In the end, they were family too, and it was not anyone else’s place to criticize them.
Though puzzled, not a single person dared to intervene.
After the princess was forcibly pressed back into her seat, the three Wesford brothers turned to leave.
But the princess called out to them.
“Do you know why I didn’t run?”
The three brothers instinctively looked back.
A vicious smile spread across the princess’s face. In that smile, they could almost see the shadow of her father—the mad king, Zasfei.
They paid her no attention and turned to leave, but the princess called out to them again.
“It’s because I never intended to escape in the first place. I only wanted to see whom that bastard father of mine had sent to watch me. I never expected it to be the three of you—my dear uncles.”
Those words successfully stopped the three Wesford brothers in their tracks. They glared at the princess with displeasure.
“Dali, my mother and your younger sister, married into the royal family nineteen years ago. After that, you never received another word from her. Did you never once wonder whether she was alive or dead?”
The three brothers’ gazes grew even colder.
They were not fools. How could they not know what had happened?
They simply refused to admit that they knew.
Because knowing the truth without being able to take revenge would be the greatest humiliation a man could suffer.
“I inherited my father’s madman’s blood perfectly. I’m a complete lunatic myself, so I can more or less guess what he is planning.”
After saying this with a sinister smile, the princess slowly approached the eldest of the three Wesford brothers and whispered softly into his ear:
“Everyone here, without exception, is going to die.”
The eldest brother’s eyes trembled violently.
“What do you mean?”
