Chapter 1: What? I've Transmigrated into the Heroine of a Tragedy?
"Jiang Nanxing! Apologize to Yueyue!"
As consciousness returned, Jiang Nanxing felt a sharp, searing pain in her scalp. Her head was being yanked and pressed firmly against a hospital bed, leaving her unable to move. Lying on the bed was a pale, delicate-looking woman who wore an expression of profound sorrow.
"Brother Sheng," the woman sobbed, "I believe Sister Nanxing didn't mean to push me down the stairs. She just loves you too much."
Still groggy, Jiang Nanxing couldn't help but think: the scent of green tea radiating from this woman is so potent, she must be a thousand-year-old Longjing tea spirit.
Before the thought even settled, her head was jerked backward, her scalp burning with pain. The same voice from before snarled, "I only feel disgust being loved by a vicious woman like you!"
"You aren't even fit to tie Yueyue's shoes!"
"If it weren't for Yueyue's kind heart pleading for you, it wouldn't just be an apology you'd be giving today."
The pain jolted Jiang Nanxing wide awake. Damn it! How much of her hair was he pulling out? Her hairline was already receding by the day; this was adding insult to injury! Who could endure this?
She struggled to lift her arm, applied a bit of grappling technique, grabbed the arm of the person behind her, and pivoted to hurl him onto the bed. Caught off guard, the man was easily flipped over. Jiang Nanxing immediately pounced and delivered three resounding slaps to his face.
The woman on the bed shrieked, instinctively reaching out to claw at her. "Jiang Nanxing! Are you insane?"
In Jiang Nanxing’s mind, a mechanical voice screamed, "Host! Have you lost your mind? Your mission is to play the tragic heroine of an angst novel! How can you beat up the male lead!"
Oh, right. Jiang Nanxing remembered now. She had been bound to a quick-transmigration system to play a tragic heroine, destined to suffer endless physical and emotional abuse. Don’t worry, though; there would be a small amount of "chasing the wife in a crematorium" trope buried within the massive pile of misery.
For instance, in this first world, the heroine's family life could be summarized as: a gambling father, a dying mother, a blood-sucking younger brother, and a broken her. She was also supposed to be constantly humiliated and tortured by the male lead, Sheng Ting, eventually having her hand broken and a kidney harvested.
At the very end, the male lead would kneel and weep with deep affection, leading to a happy ending. However, for some reason, the tragic heroines kept waking up and running away, preventing the plot from proceeding. That was why the system had brought her in to do some roleplay.
As someone who enjoyed acting, Jiang Nanxing had naturally agreed.
Oops.
Jiang Nanxing apologized instantly, "My bad, my bad. I’m a bit rusty at this role."
Of course, she’d do it again next time. She was allergic to scumbags.
Sheng Ting, having been slapped three times, finally snapped back to reality. His face turned dark, and he roared in uncontrollable fury, "Jiang Nanxing! How dare you!"

Jiang Nanxing and the system fell silent simultaneously.
After roaring, Sheng Ting shoved her hand away and reached for her throat. Caught off guard, Jiang Nanxing stumbled, her knee hitting the bed. Wait, that didn't feel like the bed; it was a bit too soft.
"Jiang Nanxing!" Sheng Ting’s voice cracked, laced with a hint of agony.
Jiang Nanxing looked down and saw Sheng Ting hunched over like a shrimp, clutching his crotch, his usually arrogant and evil face twisted in grotesque pain. She looked at where her knee had landed. She had, perhaps, maybe, possibly, accidentally struck Sheng Ting’s philtrum.
The philtrum in the middle of his manhood.

The system hesitated, then finally managed to say, "It seems the host has her own rhythm for completing missions."
Jiang Nanxing blinked. Really? She hadn't realized.
Yao Xinyue, who had been feeling smug about framing Jiang Nanxing, was stunned by this development. Jiang Nanxing looked at the dazed woman. "Aren't you going to call a doctor?"
Yao Xinyue snapped back to reality and frantically pressed the call button. Chaos ensued. Sheng Ting was carried away by medical staff. Before he left, he didn't forget to glare at her and snarl, "Jiang Nanxing! I will make you kneel and beg for mercy! You will pay for what you've done today!"
Oh, really? We'll see who ends up begging who.
Only Yao Xinyue and Jiang Nanxing remained in the ward. Yao Xinyue leaned back comfortably, her expression turning vicious. "Jiang Nanxing, you’ve brought this upon yourself. Just wait and see how Brother Sheng deals with you."
"I thought I’d have to put in more effort, but you’re so pathetic and fragile."
"But if you kneel and beg me, I might put in a good word for you with Brother Sheng. After all, your mother’s illness depends entirely on Brother Sheng’s help."
She looked at Jiang Nanxing as if she were a stray dog. Even though Yao Xinyue knew exactly what kind of situation Jiang Nanxing was in, she still aimed her malice at her.
Jiang Nanxing looked at her and slowly raised her hand. Yao Xinyue, who enjoyed humiliating Jiang Nanxing, was likely already fantasizing about her kneeling and didn't notice the movement. Before she could continue her gloating, she was struck by three resounding slaps that left her seeing stars.
They were both scumbags; she couldn't show favoritism.
Jiang Nanxing was very fair.
Yao Xinyue’s fair skin swelled visibly. She clutched her face and shrieked, "You dare hit me!"
This reminded Jiang Nanxing of the famous saying: "I hit you because I wanted to; do I need to pick a lucky day for it?"
Besides, she had already hit her, so there was no point in asking if she dared or not. It was a waste of breath.
Yao Xinyue was livid. She lunged forward to scratch Jiang Nanxing’s face. "You bitch! I’m not done with you!"
Jiang Nanxing easily caught her wrists, stepping back and pulling. Yao Xinyue tumbled off the bed, her forehead making intimate contact with the floor. She let out a scream like a slaughtered pig.
*Hiss.* Even Jiang Nanxing felt that sounded painful. She kindly called the medical staff for her. Then, Yao Xinyue was carried away as well.
Jiang Nanxing sighed, "I really am so kind-hearted."
System: "…Host, have some shame."
Jiang Nanxing touched her face. "Isn't it right here? Why would I need more?"
"Anyway, let’s not talk about that. Let me review the plot first."
As it stood, she was the heroine who had no money to treat her mother, so she had sold herself to serve Sheng Ting. That was why Sheng Ting was so confident she would eventually kneel and beg him.
In reality, this man had never given Jiang Nanxing a single cent. He kept her mother at his own hospital, claiming that as long as she was obedient, he would provide the best medical resources. In truth, the hospital barely provided any real treatment, letting her mother’s condition continuously deteriorate.
If you asked how he would redeem himself during the "crematorium" phase, it would obviously be by claiming that his vicious "white moonlight" had hidden it all from him and that he was completely unaware.
It made Jiang Nanxing laugh in anger. And there was more that was even more infuriating.
Sheng Ting’s white moonlight, Yao Xinyue, had framed her for pushing her down the stairs simply out of jealousy that Jiang Nanxing was allowed to stay by his side.
But it wasn't over yet. Yao Xinyue wasn't satisfied with just an apology.
