Volume One, Chapter Six: The Secret Art of the Mind

How embarrassing.
Liu Yiyun’s face darkened as he immediately turned around and unleashed the first move of the Great Mighty Heavenly Dragon—an intentionally powerful punch aimed directly at the corpse puppet.
At this moment, the corpse puppet was still basking in the joy of about to leave the Demon Suppression Prison, mixed with confusion over Liu Yiyun’s bizarre move just now.
By the time it came to its senses, it only saw a huge fist rapidly growing larger in its vision.
“Bang!”
Liu Yiyun’s fist struck the corpse puppet fiercely.
The corpse puppet slammed against the prison wall, then fell to the ground, rolling several times before coming to a stop.
“Ahhhhh! Wuwuwu!”
“You despicable human, how dare you hit me! Ahhh, it hurts, it hurts!” The corpse puppet screamed miserably as it floated toward the corner of the cell.
Liu Yiyun focused and finally got a clear look at the grotesque creature in front of him.
A terrifying skull with black blood oozing down its face, its eyeballs unnervingly white, with what looked like worms crawling inside...
Ew! So disgusting.
The only redeeming feature was its silky long hair.
“Despicable human, I’ll kill you! Ahhh!”
Kill me? Liu Yiyun laughed darkly, heh heh heh...
“Bang!”
He shut the cell door.
With a cold, detached stride, he approached the corpse puppet.
“How dare you come closer?!” The corpse puppet felt dizzy, wondering why this Qi Refinement-stage ant wasn’t afraid of it.
Is the Celestial Sanctum insulting us demons?
“Ant, I will make you regret this!”
“Ding!”
A strange ripple appeared on the corpse puppet’s face, and the black aura filled the entire cell.
Liu Yiyun suddenly felt the world spin, and in an instant, he was transported to another place.
Where the empty cell once stood, now lay a blood-soaked ancient battlefield.
Broken limbs and corpses littered the ground, the sky stained a deep crimson.
In the middle was a road paved with white bones. Looking into the distance, at the end of this bone road stood a massive throne made entirely of bones.
On the throne sat the corpse puppet, but now it had a body.
Flanking it on either side were two smaller skeleton soldiers, seemingly female by their build.

Unexpectedly, the corpse puppet had a taste for this as well.
Behind the throne, countless menacing skeleton soldiers gathered densely, like members of a frenzied cult, shaking their heads wildly and shouting, kneeling before their king—the corpse puppet.
With such a grand backdrop, the corpse puppet became intoxicated with pride, forgetting that it had been knocked down at the start by Liu Yiyun’s deliberate punch.
Standing atop the throne, it posed like a god from the heavens, looking down on Liu Yiyun.
Its voice thundered: “Despicable human, kneel before me now!”
Liu Yiyun was stunned. Is this corpse head really trying to act so arrogant? Throwing up some illusion and putting on this deathly show?
Even the once invincible Hammer King, Borodin, never dared to command him to kneel. What was this corpse head supposed to be?
At that moment, the countless skeleton soldiers behind the corpse puppet rose in unison.
Their empty eye sockets all fixed on Liu Yiyun, shouting: “Kneel!”
The voices crashed over him like a massive tidal wave, trying to overwhelm and swallow him whole.
But Liu Yiyun only felt a cool breeze brush past his hair, chilling and refreshing.
Why shout so loudly? It’s utterly useless.
Better to just drench him in saliva like the snake demon.
[Ding, Spirit +10.]
[Ding, Spirit +10.]
[Ding, Spirit +10.]
[Ding, Congratulations! Your spirit has reached 100 points. Reward: Spirit Secret Technique “Shattering Delusions,” automatically cultivated to perfection.]
Hmm? A spirit secret technique?
Liu Yiyun was thrilled. Wow, this corpse puppet sure has a generous drop rate—just a few shouts and out pops a secret technique.
Everyone, come join me!
As he finished speaking, two streams of light instantly entered his eyes.
Besides feeling like chili powder had been rubbed into his eyes—fiery and burning—his vision seemed to have improved.
If before, his fourth stage Qi Refinement vision was 5.4, now it was at least 54—saving the cost of binoculars, a perfect sniper’s vision.
The group of blasted skeleton soldiers opposite still had zero manners, yelling “Kneel, kneel.”
Liu Yiyun was eager to test out the Shattering Delusions technique on them.
After half a breath, a blood-red glow flashed through his eyes. He felt something strange inside, as if something was spinning, akin to the Sharingan.
In an instant, the ancient battlefield before him began to twist and distort.
After ten more breaths, the battlefield returned to normal.
Still the same broken limbs scattered around, the same massive throne made of bones, the same countless skeleton soldiers.

The only difference was that now Liu Yiyun sat upon the throne.
And the corpse puppet was crawling at his feet.
Corpse Puppet: “Ah?”
What happened?
The corpse puppet looked around bewildered, glancing at Liu Yiyun and then at itself.
“What... what is going on?” it was utterly confused.
Hello everyone, I am a Perfect Golden Core stage corpse puppet, skilled in illusions, and now I’ve been tricked by a Qi Refinement stage human ant’s illusion. What should I do?
Urgent, please advise.
Because in its vision appeared a huge foot.
“Bang!”
Liu Yiyun kicked it, sending it flying several yards, tumbling before coming to a stop.
The corpse puppet staggered up, pointing at Liu Yiyun: “Damn you! You... you actually broke my illusion. When... when did you—no, impossible, no no no, Arda is... is so troublesome, why allow him into the accounting department... what the—”
It began babbling nonsense.
Liu Yiyun sat proudly on the throne, looking down on it with disdain. His fingers drummed on the armrest, each tap seeming to make the corpse puppet’s heart beat—though it no longer had a heart.
Suddenly, Liu Yiyun shouted, “Kneel!”
The countless skeleton soldiers behind him echoed in unison: “Kneel!”
“Kneel!”
“Kneel!”
In an instant, the corpse puppet felt overwhelming pressure like a divine mountain crushing down upon it.
“Impossible! No! No no no!”
It screamed in terror, but to no avail.
The body it had just risen with collapsed back to its knees.
Liu Yiyun’s pupils continued to spin: “Roll over here.”
Still bewildered, the corpse puppet suddenly found its body moving uncontrollably, rolling toward Liu Yiyun with a “thud thud” sound.
That’s uphill, by the way.
