Chapter 50—I'm Going on a Date with You
“Why are you all looking at me like that?”
Mu Ran leisurely closed the car door with a decisive force, then lazily walked toward the group.
She caught the shock and excitement in everyone’s eyes, somewhat at a loss as to why.
Gu Beicheng got out of the car and followed behind her, hands in his pockets, his gaze full of amusement as he watched her back. In those dark eyes, desire for conquest simmered.
“Sister Ran, can you tell me if there’s anything you can’t do?” Qi Jun beamed with delight at Mu Ran, grinning broadly. No man could resist a female racer with such formidable skill.
Especially someone like Mu Ran, with both the figure and looks of a top-tier character.
After a few days together, Qi Jun had discovered many of her strengths; her only flaw was her overwhelming dominance and coldness, and her disdain for pleasing others. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have so many haters.
As Qi Jun stared at Mu Ran, he suddenly felt a cold glare shoot toward him from behind her. He turned his head and forced a smile, “Long time no see, Teacher Cheng.”
Gu Beicheng’s expression was impassive. He knew Mu Ran possessed many extraordinary qualities, and would naturally attract numerous admirers, but he would not allow any man but himself to approach her.
“Hm?” Mu Ran frowned, wondering why this group stood there motionless.
“Mu Ran, you play F1 Formula Racing too? Your skills are impressive,” Song Xiao approached, marveling in astonishment. He was also an extreme sports enthusiast, often organizing racing events in his spare time.
Mu Ran nodded lightly, her manner effortless. Suddenly, a gust of cold wind swept through; she instinctively hunched her neck.
The next moment, she looked up in surprise, finding herself once again in Gu Beicheng’s arms. She tilted her head up, her nose reddened by the chill, “Let go of me.”
He raised his eyebrows and leaned down toward her, “What did you say?”
Frustration welled up inside Mu Ran. She bit her lip, stood on tiptoe, and whispered into his ear, her soft lips brushing his earlobe, “There are so many people around, can you pay a little attention to your image?”
“What image? The image of pursuing my wife?” Gu Beicheng enunciated clearly.
“Alright, you two, enough of this lovey-dovey show. You’re making us singles itch with envy,” Shao Ping couldn’t stand it anymore; Cheng Beigu’s face was nearly buried in Sister Ran’s neck!
“Don’t you have a date?” Gu Beicheng looked up, his cold gaze flashing, as if tinged with anger. After a moment, a smile tugged at his lips as he squinted at Qi Jun.
“Uh, right. Where did Fu Jiaojiao go?” Qi Jun quickly turned his head, feigning nonchalance, scanning for the troublesome girl.
“I’m here…” A weak voice came from the rear door of the SUV as it slowly opened.
A disheveled, bedraggled woman crawled out.
Moments later, the sound of retching filled the air.
Qi Jun pinched his nose exaggeratedly and mocked, “Miss Fu, were you out begging just now?”
Fu Jiaojiao wiped her mouth, her venomous gaze full of resentment, locked on Mu Ran, who was warming herself in Gu Beicheng’s arms. “Mu Ran, you really know how to play! I want to…”
“She kindly gave you a lift, and you want to do what to her?” Gu Beicheng’s eagle eyes bore into Fu Jiaojiao, his fierce aura pressing down on her.
Fu Jiaojiao dared not meet his gaze, her eyes revealing timidity. This Cheng Beigu was clearly no ordinary man—his bearing, his speech, and the director’s team’s reverence toward him all spoke volumes.
“Nothing,” Fu Jiaojiao struggled to stand, not looking at Mu Ran. She feared that if she glanced at her, she’d lose control and tear that wretched face apart!
“Alright, Jiaojiao, as long as you arrived safely. Everyone, prepare for the next segment: from the foot of the mountain to the halfway point, it’ll take about half an hour. The first group to reach the villa wins a luxury dinner,”
Gao Minglang’s voice wasn’t loud, but carried an undeniable authority.
Fu Jiaojiao shot Gao Minglang a glare, arms crossed, snorting coldly. She cursed him inwardly ten thousand times—safe arrival? She’d nearly died thanks to Mu Ran on the road.
After five minutes of preparation, each group set off with a cameraman.
There was only one entrance up the snowy mountain, but once on it, many forks appeared.
“Everyone, be careful!” Gao Minglang shouted through a megaphone at the base.
Assistant director Chen Liang sidled up to him, “Director, should we go up first? I’m worried they’ll get lost.”
Gao Minglang squinted, eyeing the nervous man. “How long have you worked with me? Still overthinking. I’ve arranged for all the other paths to be closed, so there are only two routes up.”
“But what about us…”
Shouldn’t the director’s team go up first? Aren’t we supposed to eat dinner in the villa halfway up? Gao’s calm demeanor left Chen Liang puzzled.
Gao Minglang waved his hand, speaking lightly, “Before coming, I told you to study the snow village thoroughly. Clearly, you didn’t. There’s a sightseeing elevator from the back mountain straight to the villa. We can go up later.”
Chen Liang scratched his head in embarrassment; he’d thought there was only one villa, never realizing there was another atop the mountain.

“Fu Jiaojiao, can you hurry up?” Qi Jun strode upward, hoping to quicken the pace and overtake Shao Ping and the athletic group ahead. Who could have guessed Fu Jiaojiao would be such a drag?
“Go die if you’re so impatient! I’m already moving as fast as I can!” Fu Jiaojiao gasped, clutching her chest with one hand, gripping the ladder rail with the other, venting her frustration at Qi Jun, who was far ahead.
Her anxiety soared—she wanted to pick up speed, but her stamina just couldn’t keep up. That Qi Jun was infuriating; this was supposed to be a dating show, with couples going on journeys together, but he hardly treated her as a woman!
She glanced back at Bai Zehan, her lips curving slightly. Now that Yun Fu was gone, Bai Zehan was alone—an opportunity not to be missed!
“Fu Jiaojiao, what’s wrong with you? Why are you heading downward?” Qi Jun yelled in exasperation, unable to fathom her intentions.
Fu Jiaojiao waved him off, “Qi Jun, don’t wait for me. Go on your own. I’ll pair up with Teacher Bai.”
Qi Jun smiled indifferently and turned to continue climbing, “Suit yourself.”
“Teacher Bai, let’s go on a date together!” Fu Jiaojiao approached Bai Zehan with a coy smile, her tone ingratiating, her body edging closer, subtly brushing against him as she spoke.
The cameraman zoomed in on their faces.
On the barrage—
“Fu Jiaojiao is the ultimate tea girl!”
“Maybe Jiaojiao actually likes Teacher Bai!”
“So what about our Qi Jun?”
“A tiger always walks alone!”
“Why are Mu Ran and Cheng Beigu moving so slowly?”
“I want to see Mu Ran and Cheng Beigu! Not Fu Jiaojiao, that annoying sparrow!”
Bai Zehan lowered his eyes to the small hand grasping his, smiling awkwardly as he replied unhurriedly, “Jiaojiao, if you date me, what about Qi Jun? If the show later brings in new female guests, I’ll drop out.”
Bai Zehan thought the show was funded by Chengxing, and as the company’s cash cow, he expected to have some status here. But he hadn’t counted on the big boss himself joining—and taking an interest in his ex-girlfriend.
For two episodes, he’d been invisible, and he couldn’t stand watching Gu Beicheng and that woman’s endless affection. The sooner he left, the better.
There would always be chances to deal with Mu Ran, but he mustn’t provoke Gu Beicheng.
“Teacher Bai, don’t leave! The one who should go isn’t you!” The moment Fu Jiaojiao heard Bai Zehan wanted to leave, she panicked. Clearly, that wretched Mu Ran had hurt and upset him.
Bai Zehan sighed deeply, shaking his head, “Go team up with Qi Jun. I’ll go alone.”
“No! Qi Jun doesn’t like dating me. I want to date you!”
Unable to resist, Bai Zehan patted her head gently, smiling softly. “Alright, then let’s date together.”
Excited, Fu Jiaojiao failed to notice the calculation and depth flickering in Bai Zehan’s eyes. She smiled foolishly at him, then looked back, “Teacher Bai, let’s hurry. Song Xiao and Mu Ran’s groups are catching up.”
Gao Tiange, who had caught up, saw Fu Jiaojiao beside Bai Zehan and her displeasure was palpable. She snorted coldly at Bai Zehan, her eyes warning, before grabbing Song Xiao’s arm and storming past.
“Tiange, be careful,” Bai Zehan feigned concern, his gaze gentle as he addressed Gao Tiange.
She snorted again—he’d already forgotten the sweet moments they shared at the hotel two nights ago! Since the third episode, Bai Zehan had deliberately distanced himself, clearly wanting to sever ties.
“Teacher Gao, could you let go? It’s a bit tiring,”
A muffled, disgruntled voice sounded above her. Gao Tiange snapped back, looking up at Song Xiao.
“It’s just holding on for a bit!” Gao Tiange reluctantly released his arm, mumbling under her breath.
“Hang in there—just twenty minutes to go.” Song Xiao strode ahead, making no effort to wait for her.
“What’s the rush!” Gao Tiange hurried to catch up, glancing back as she did so. Fu Jiaojiao was dragging Bai Zehan, both moving sluggishly.
As for Mu Ran and Cheng Beigu, they lagged at the very end.
“Hmph, not so impressive after all!” Gao Tiange turned smugly, secretly pleased—this time, Mu Ran and Cheng Beigu would surely place last and be forced to eat wild greens!
