Chapter Ten: A Pleasant Collaboration

Du Yu and his group soon arrived at the café. They found a quiet corner to sit down. Although Wang Xiaowei was a bit simple-minded, he clearly understood that he couldn’t really join the conversation at this moment, so he obediently sat aside, staring at Du Yu with hopeful eyes.
“Go for it, Brother Yu!”
Du Yu rolled his eyes at him impatiently.
“I’m here to talk business, you idiot. What are you thinking about?!”
Pulling back his gaze, he calmly called the waiter over and gallantly handed the menu to Ma Yue. Without even glancing at it, she ordered methodically, “A strong Americano, please.”
Well, this girl’s taste is rather unique.
“I’ll have a latte, double milk,” Du Yu said, his tone and gestures showing practiced ease.
Ma Yue immediately became curious. “Brother Yu, are you a regular at cafés?”
Throughout their walk, she had been calling him Brother Yu so naturally it sounded fluent.
“No, I’m from the countryside. This is my first time here,” Du Yu replied with a wave of his hand and a cheerful smile.
This made Ma Yue even more curious. How could someone who’d never been to a café know so much? But seeing that Du Yu didn’t elaborate, she tactfully refrained from asking further.
“Sir, may I take your order?” The waiter politely handed the menu to Wang Xiaowei.
Now it was Wang Xiaowei’s turn to be dumbfounded, his face flushing red.
He recognized every single word on the menu, but what did it all mean when put together?
After hesitating for a long while, a bright idea struck him. “I’ll have a strong Americano too!”
Since the girl was drinking it, it surely wasn’t bad. Besides, he was a clever guy like Wang Xiaowei!
He thought proudly, a grin creeping across his face.
Ma Yue didn’t expect Brother Yu’s friend to have such a unique taste like hers—a kindred spirit!
Du Yu twitched slightly.
He never saw this kid so happy when drinking traditional Chinese medicine before.

Ignoring Wang Xiaowei, Du Yu and Ma Yue got straight to the point.
“Brother Yu, Grandpa Shi has already told me about you—very capable and intelligent. I have complete trust in your abilities. Whoever Grandpa Shi trusts, I trust fully as well!” Ma Yue said softly, her voice gentle.
This took Du Yu by surprise. He had prepared a lengthy speech, but it seemed unnecessary now.
Grandpa Shi’s influence truly exceeded his expectations.
“Thank you for your trust, Miss Ma! But Grandpa Shi has overpraised me. I’m just a fisherman with some technical knowledge, nothing worth boasting about. Miss Ma, however, is my age and yet has insights in many areas, which is truly admirable!” Du Yu modestly downplayed himself before praising Ma Yue.
Ma Yue was struck by Du Yu’s words—not because they flattered her, but because she saw a maturity in him that didn’t match his age.
Though young, Ma Yue had grown up surrounded by worldly adults—wily old foxes flattering her parents and merchants groveling for favors.
Now hearing similar words from Du Yu, who spoke with neither servility nor arrogance, intrigued her deeply.
She felt a strong curiosity about him but suppressed her emotions.
Unconsciously, Ma Yue straightened her posture—a stance she only took when addressing elders.
Du Yu noticed this and nodded silently. If this were another girl, she might have been floating on air from the flattery. But Ma Yue remained calm, her tone natural.
This girl’s background must be complex; ordinary families couldn’t raise such a person.
Just then, three cups of coffee were brought over. The three sipped their drinks as Du Yu and Ma Yue continued discussing their cooperation.
Of course, only Du Yu and Ma Yue were engaged in conversation; Wang Xiaowei’s face was already contorted with discomfort.
After nearly an hour in the café, the two reached an agreement: Du Yu would supply seafood, Ma Yue would manage the store and use her channels and skills to handle sales. The profits would be split 60/40, with Du Yu taking 60% and Ma Yue 40%.
“Here’s to a pleasant partnership!”
They gently clinked their cups and finished the remaining coffee, marking the successful start of their collaboration.
Wang Xiaowei watched the toast with a grimace.
How on earth did you two drink that down?!
The three left the café and immediately started their tasks without delay. Ma Yue took charge of finding a storefront, Du Yu focused on catching seafood, and as for Wang Xiaowei...
Brother Yu told him what to do, and he did it.

Du Yu took the ever-curious Wang Xiaowei to enjoy a sumptuous lunch in the city.
Watching Wang Xiaowei enthusiastically licking his plate clean under the curious stares of others, Du Yu silently turned his head away, signaling he had nothing to do with this guy.
Once Wang Xiaowei had finished cleaning the plate with his tongue, Du Yu swiftly took him back to the village.
The sun blazed red in the sky. The village was quiet; Wang Xiaowei went home to change into fishing gear, and Li Chunhong wasn’t home either.
Du Yu welcomed the tranquility and decided to activate the system.
[Host: Du Yu]
[Luck Value: 130]
Du Yu promptly exchanged 50 portions of bait and a bucket. He carried one bucket, Wang Xiaowei the other, leaving him with 70 luck points remaining.
Looking at the small plastic bag filled with 50 tiny black pellets, a few spilled through holes in the flimsy packaging, making Du Yu scratch his head.
Is this system serious or not?
Du Yu doubted seriously whether this bait could catch any fish.
Not thinking too much about it, he checked the luck value store carefully but found no new items had refreshed. He sighed with regret.
I want to cheat, man.
With all the bait in hand and buckets carried, Du Yu stepped out to find Wang Xiaowei.
Let’s make some money!
They arrived at the beach, where many others were fishing. But with the sun blazing mercilessly, few caught fish. Instead, many were sunburned red-faced.
At this moment, Wang Xiaowei looked at Brother Yu as if he were insane.
Just now, as they set down the buckets, prepared their rods, and got ready to fish, Du Yu stopped Wang Xiaowei from putting a worm on his hook.
Are you kidding? Standing under this scorching sun to fish and hoping the fish bite willingly?
Wang Xiaowei nearly cried. “Brother Yu, you never told me this was how we were going to fish!”
